Make sure to first have SuperBLT, BeardLib, and WeaponLib installed. Click the links in the dependency list.

1. After downloading the mod, use a program such as 7zip or WinRAR to extract the main folder of the mod.
2. Drop that main folder of the mod to assets/mod_overrides. The assets folder is supposed to be in your game's installation folder (don't know where that is? click here). Create the folder if necessary

REQUIRED MODS

Where do I install this mod?
Extract the Halo Reach DMR file into your mod_overrides.

Extract Modern Sights into the "mods" folder.
Note that Modern Sights is technically optional, if you plan to only use the default scope overlay/vanilla optics/other custom optics.
However, if you plan to use the standalone EVOS-D scope (does not use scope overlay, but is done similar to custom optics), you MUST have Modern Sights or the standalone scope will not work. I set it to be a requirement just in case, since the mod itself does nothing unless your scope purposely uses Modern Sights data.

Optional Mods:

Extract More Ammunition Types into your mod_overrides.
MAT isn't required, but this mod was build with MAT in mind, such as intentionally not getting wall/shield piercing by default, but sacrificing an ammo type for extra piercing.

Extract More Weapon Categories and Custom Categories for Custom Weapons into your mod_overrides.
More Weapon Categories isn't needed, but is there if you don't want to guilt yourself over using what is effectively a second Contractor. MWC will place the M392 into the DMR category, stripping your ability to use sniper rifle skills away from the M392.

Though nothing is stopping you from using MAT Ammo that gives you the sniper rifle category, but I find that's a fair trade: you can choose the damage boost and penetration boost from Noble ammo, or getting Graze from changing the weapon to the sniper rifle category.
