ok so low ammo clicking itself is not new or unique, in fact i'm using a mod that adds it right now... but its always a static sound effect.
there was this roblox game i usued to play... cringe, i know. but it had these low ammo clicking sounds, except with two options:
one was having the clicking itself, but the pitch increased the lower the ammo count got.
the other increased the pitch of the firing sound itself as ammo got lower, without the clicking. or maybe with. i dont remember.
i bet changing the pitch dynamically is already a pain with one soundeffect, let alone potentially hundreds of firing sound effects that could be modified by other mods for all you know, so i bet the second setting would be unrealistic to ask for... but what about the first? could it be done without an absolute shit ton of audio files?
i also wonder if it would be difficult to make this pitch algorithm thing im too dumb to imagine configurable, such that you could modify what percentage of the magazine it would start happening? i just think it would be funny to have it always on from the second you fire your first round so your gun is just constantly making higher and higher pitched clicking sounds, lol.
You know I'ma be honest I looked into this and I think a bit too dumb to kinda code all that. But I did find this so thats something, I guess. https://modworkshop.net/mod/23726?tab=downloads
I believe sound pitch can be changed dynamically through code alone, I'm not really an audio modder so I can't guarantee I can do it, but I'm willing to give it a try if none of my fellow audio modders want to.
Actually let me ask Adam maybe he knows something about this.
Yo @adamantice50059 this something you can help with?
@endless_ambition Possibly, coding is not my strong suit but I'll look into it when I return from a trip I am on, should be home Sunday and stuff so yeah.
