The Bolter is unlocked at level 42 and will appear to others as the AK12 (AK17).

The Bolter mostly sticks to its depiction in Darktide with the high damage and splash damage abilities, but payday gameplay elements gives it the opposite use case.
In Darktide, its monstrous damage but low ammo count made it best used as exclusively a boss or special killer weapon. While in Payday, its splash damage but no headshot multipliers means that you're better off using it to mow down hordes of normal cops instead of using it to focus down on the dozers.

Ammo pickup is intentionally set to 1-2 bullets by request, but considering the gun's high damage, you probably are using this as a pseudo grenade launcher anyways.

Unlike 5.56 NATO or 9x19 Parabellum, I'm not sure where to find assets for "Bolter ammo" and the model requested only gives the tip of the bullet, not including the casing. So the commissioner asked I duplicate some bullet meshes from an old Sisters of Battle Bolt Pistol mod.

A: Praise to the Emperor, I wish he blessed me with the assets for humble Kantrael Lasgun. Unfortunately, the Big E has not deigned to provide any asset dumps or methods of ripping from Darktide. I even asked a Tech Priest on Artstation for the permission to use their asset, and the answer I got was more or less "No".
