The Vepr-12 will appear to others as the Saiga-12 (Izhma-12) shotgun.
The Vepr-12 behaves mostly identical to the Saiga-12/Izhma-12. The Vepr trades out the Izhma's larger ammo pool and focus on concealment for greater attachment flexibility and slightly better damage.

The Vepr-12 starts out with some default mods that have stats pre-applied. I don't like the starbreeze model of having a weapon that only gets good when you buy a bunch of DLCs and create a garish mismatch of attachments. I believe the default configuration of a weapon should be fairly useable and that the only attachments added should be build defining ones like drum mags/ammo types or cosmetic attachments like optics/gadgets.
With that in mind, your ammo type and barrel/handguard option will be the core of your build. I expect people to either build for dodge/crit setups (the short barrels), build for buckshot/flechettes and dump concealment like the AA12 (drum mag/longest barrels with stability), or try to build the weird battle rifle-esque setups with slug (one of the larger mags with one of the long barrels which increase accuracy).
Known Issues
- Yes, I am aware the bolt doesn't lock back when using the stick mags. Yes, I am aware one of the mechanical distinctions of the Vepr-12 compared to the Saiga as a Russian gas operated mag fed shotgun is the bolt hold open device. I actually pointed this out to masavik, masavik said he wanted the bolt to have the same behavior between all the magazines. So pretend your magazine followers are busted, idk.
- If using the drum mags, the weapon will be reloaded (in game terms) roughly 1.5 seconds faster than when the animation finishes due to me unable to find a solution to make the drum mag change the animation timers.

A: For the exact same reason I made the Dracarys full auto capable: everyone wants to use the primary mag-fed full auto shotguns like the AA12 or Saiga as a spray and pray weapon.

If you mean the actual receiver, also no. I think the 3d printed polymer look is really silly.
