The OWD M1A will appear as the Payday 2 M14/M308 and is unlocked at level 26.
The M1A uses the same stats as the vanilla M14, a highly accurate semi auto 160 damage DMR.
The biggest distinction between the M1A and the vanilla M14 is that the M1A has a slower rate of fire (but still perfectly spammable for a DMR at 500 RPM) and lacks the ability to fire on full auto due to lacking the selector switch.
The only notable attachments on the M1A are the 20 round mag, the ammunition that lets you pierce shields/walls/enemies, and the cosmetic options like the stocks or gadget positions.
Known Issues:
-If you are looking closely, there is a bit of floating palms on the hold animation due to the OWD stocks being thinner than the Payday 2 Garand hold animation. I originally pointed this out to Nya during the prototyping of the mod, but they were okay with the slight floating hands.
-Some optics might be partially hanging off the rail due to the limited space.
Q: Aren't the bolt/charging handle supposed to lock back on empty?
A: In the earliest prototypes of the weapon, the bolt and charging handle did lock back on empty. However, this was changed when Nya purposely said to ignore that to mimic the OWD animations.
Q: With the stats being largely the same as the existing M308, why isn't this simply a stock option for the M308?
A: That was actually what Nya originally wanted: Item was contacted to turn the OWD assets into attachments for the vanilla M14/M308. However, the vanilla M14 is held with a pistol grip and not by the classic rifle grip, so the vanilla M14 hold animation wouldn't work on the OWD stocks. So Nya decided to make this into a custom weapon instead.
Q: Sniper scope so I can make a M21 style setup?
A: That too was a request from Nya, however my attempts to add the sniper scopes resulted in the VR (?) mesh blocking your screen. See below for what I mean.
