Thanks to PlayBONK for the great animation work!
The Malyuk/Vulkan-M will appear to others as the AK12 (AK17) and is unlocked at level 29.
The Mayluk functions like most of the 7.62x39mm rifles: hard hitting and fairly precise but with low ammo capacity. As a bullpup, the Malyuk has a noticeable advantage in high base concealment without needing to sacrifice much in firepower or accuracy.
Stat Notes:
Spoiler!
RPM is average at 650 RPM.
Damage is similar to other 7.62x39mm rifles at 96.
You carry 3 30 round mags for a total of 90 rounds, same as the AKM/M16.
The ammo pickup for the Malyuk is substantially better than the AK762 at 2-4.5 at base.
Base Accuracy is above average at 60 and is boosted by default mods.
Base Stability is average at 48, boosted by default mods.
The Malyuk should be precise enough to hit where you're pointing it at and should consistently kick up and to the left.
All the mods you expect from MW2022 are available, with most of them being cosmetic.
The exceptions go to barrels, magazines, and the two ammunition types.
The oddly named Single Tap mod takes its inspiration from MW2022, turning the Malyuk into a DMR. The damage is optimized to double tap enemies to the head.
The 5.45 represents a low damage ammunition type, for the people that prefer the having more ammo pickup at the expense of damage. It converts the Malyuk into the stat block roughly matching the vanilla AK74/AK Rifle.
Known Issues:
Using the folded irons in combination with certain sights mounted farther backwards (mostly mine, such as the MW2019 Operator Red Dot) will cause clipping issues.
Probable Future Asked Questions
Q: Why no 5.56x45mm in AK100 magazines/in STANAGs?!?!?! >:(
A: Both 5.45 and 5.56 would occupy the same role as the "lower caliber ammunition that you can spray and pray more of", so I picked 5.45 since the Malyuk traces its lineage to the AK. I am not really sure how you'd make a meaningful gameplay distinction between 5.56 and 5.45 when 5.45, by design, was the Soviets' intermediary cartridge equivalent to NATO's 5.56x45mm.
that and how the gun feeds from STANAGs is kind of a mystery given that infinity ward didnt model the full internals
also, i realized too late that CGTrader has a proper malyuk model with the receiver marked for all 3 calibers, oh well I guess i didnt need to wait for the cocaine warfare model whoops
REEEEE BULLPUP AK TOO WEEK/STRONK, NEED BUFF/NERF!!!
A: i didnt realize the "baby" in the gun's nickname was you, but that probably explains your whining
