This is a voice-over mod that replaces the majority of Sydney's voice lines with an AI voice of Kotori Minami from the anime "Love Live! School idol project". I used RVC-GUI, which is free and can be found on GitHub, to make this mod possible. Unfortunately, it has its own limitations so some of the lines can sound a bit wonky (or even goofy af) and there are at least two that I kept intact (Sydney's laughter in particular) because of it. So, yeah...
This is also my first-ever mod, so user feedback would be cool; or you could be ruthless in the comments, that's fine as well. I am a noob at this modding thing after all, but I hope you enjoy this anyway. I made this primarily for fun, so why not share it here?
I used a tool called Soundbank Editor in order to convert audio files into .stream files for the game to use. Though what you're converting initially should be in WAV first. I used the Voice Over Modding guide from the wiki and a Steam guide as a source.
@tporyong
I don't have the "streamed" file when I open soundbanks in PAYDAY 2 extracted files folder, any solution? Also the mod doesnt work for me for some reason
@Lightwere
For your first issue, I'm not quite sure. Could you please clarify? Because I don't really know what you mean when you say that you can't find .stream files in PD2's "soundbanks" folder as I never really touched those folders with the vanilla .stream files inside when I first made this. Are you still trying to make a voice-over mod?
For your second issue, place the "Kotori Minami (AI voice) Sydney" folder (not the zip file itself) inside the "mod_overrides" folder.
@tporyong Yeah, I know where and how to place it but it just doesn't work for me. Also I would like to know how did you knew which and how name a file that needs to be overrided.
@Lightwere
Well, that sucks. I can't really help you out on that front, though I do suggest checking for conflicting files/mods using Payday 2's "Options" menu, then clicking "Advanced" if you still want to keep trying. It works on my end due to me having only a handful of mods located on my own mod_overrides folder. And if it ultimately doesn't work, I apologize.
Anyhow, for your second question, I downloaded a pre-existing Sydney voice mod just to figure out which .streamed files needed to be renamed, along with the names of the folders to make it work in the first place. It's kinda like reverse-engineering if you think about it.
@tporyong Alright thanks. I also tried with replacing files but, damn, there is like 2k of voice lines, if it wasn't automated huge respect man, even if it was it's more impressive
