yeah this one is definitely going to my third tier in peer mod list highlighter (kick on sight)
with the mod I can finally convert in peace without any troll, lagged or noob player killing them so the last thing I need is someone bypassing the only thing that can help me with that...

I once joined a game where someone was running the immortal dominated cops with crew chief on No Mercy. It is understandable that you want to have full value of the crew chief deck with any 'griefs', the thing is though that all the dominated cops were blocking the shots that I and my team was shooting. Unless the mod creator of the immortal dominated cops makes it so you can shoot through them I'll be using this mod so feel free to add me to your kicklist.

@dim all you have to do is punch them and they'll instantly die...
I do agree the lack of a shoot through function is a issue but honestly I was running it alongside a mod that allows unlimited dominated cops, can you imagine the whole no mercy corridor with so many dominates you can't even see the floor? yet at least for me it has never been a issue (and I always play ds)

Immortal doms is actively hindering to regular gameplay and an irritant more than an anti troll function. Want to hands up a cop while reloading/generally fighting to have them stop shooting at you? now they're immortal and will shoot you in the back if you turn away so you constantly have to be looking at them. Need to kill a shitty trade at range? too bad, you have to get all the way to them to melee them regardless of how dangerous the situation is. Domming isn't hard, just tell your team you need one and 99/100 they'll help you/not hinder you in taking one. Trolls are incredibly rare and noobs can be taught.

1- I don't know what version you're using but they don't keep the immortality effect if they recover from not getting completely dominated
2- cops set for trades are always the nearest to players, specially the host so if they're basicaly kissing the convert this cop will be set for trade
3- without kicking the player, how do you deal with someone that's 500+ ping, doesn't speaks your lang, is shooting everything on sight because for them the cops are still engaging and ends up killing the only dominated cop that you're already trading for a custodied teammate?

if people don't like a immortal cop barrier then why not working on a mod that makes bullets go through them like @Dim said? the cheese and knife are already on their hands, just gotta base on "player shots pass through team AI mod" and you'll have the solution that'll make everyone happy
"thats up for the mod creator to add to the code, not us" lazy talk, I saw a lot of players creating edits for mods and sharing them in the original mod page, even I made a few simple edits and in the end most of them became an official feature

if you're the host then you're judge, jury, executor and god, so for me at least someone using this mod the way it is rn deserves the same insta ban p3d, ultimate trainer and pirate perfection hackers gets
I may use a ton of mods but what I use won't work if I join someone that's pure vanilla, and even if they do it's not anything extreme (HUDs for example). This mod is made specifically for breaking the gameplay of whoever hosts a public lobby with immortal dominated cops installed

@act2498 not always, yesterday for example I was waiting near a dominated already expecting it would be selected for trade
in the mean time I heard someone dominating a cop and when bain asked to trade a hostage the game picked the one I was close by
"hmmm maybe they didn't completed the domination in time?" you don't have to fully dominate a cop, they can be set for trade even with only the "hands up"

in some trashy cases what can happen is the game picking a far civ instead of a closer cop, I lost count of how many times I had to rush all the way back to the front of the first world bank just to set the manager free, never liked to kill civs so I always surrender him to get the keycard

  1. You misunderstood what I'm saying, it's not that the cops are immortal after they drop the dom process, it's that you can't just kill them and HAVE to get them out of the dom process before that flank is safe, so you're forced to constantly maintain line of sight on them or break it/move in a way you wouldn't normally to stop them from being an eternal threat on your flank. Normally you'd just shoot them while their hands are up which solves the entire problem
  2. there's plenty of situations where's there's only one dom and from my experience whether or not it picks on distance is kinda finicky
  3. well here you're already getting to a rare situation, being someone who doesn't speak english/a language you can speak, incredibly high ping, and cannot hear your character repeatedly and persistently shouting hands up. Even if you get that situation most of the time you can just dom somewhere else, and even when you can't, case 1 and 2 not only cause more problems generally but also end up being part of the reason you're even in case 3. Also nobody this incompetent will even have this mod lmao.

Case 1 is the primary concern anyways. Immortal doms actively makes general gameplay more annoying to compensate for edge cases you can generally get around, domming isn't hard, everyone will put their hands up at the mildest breeze and bad players aren't all over the entire map at once.

@notyouravstalin guess you don't play no mercy often then... y'know, closed enviroment, not many places to go because everyone always stand ground on the saw door corridor, being far usually means being alone and dead... yeah there's always someone shooting everywere next to you not caring about who you're trying to surrender

high ping players from 200 to over 500 joining me are not a rare, rather a everyday thing... plus god knows why since I don't even live there but most players who joins me are from argentina and know no other lang besides spanish...

immortal doms made my life so easy that it's even funny seeing not only the noobs but also the high level players desperatedly wasting ammo on someone I'm surrending and a fun fact is that sometimes their pings really doesn't matter, the cop is surrended and in sync with everyone but they keep shooting instead of getting the cop cuffed down already... hell even my own sentry guns won't stop shooting cops I'm trying to surrender, and they keep firing even after they're completely dominated 🤡🤡🤡

in the end the whole thing is:

as for the reasons:
you hate the mod because it prevents you from getting kill bonus, shooting through dominateds, having a better visibility, etc... in my case none of these are an issue because I mainly use snipers, and even if it was what's 5 dominated cops you can't kill against over 200 per assault that you can kill?
I hate the "fix" because the main purpose is to literally break the main function of the mod IN A LOBBY THAT YOU DON'T OWN... using it makes it look like you're saying "hmmm I don't like how you play in your own lobby so I'll modify it to fit my tastes while it sends your gameplay downtown"... and dude this is basically what a cheat does

First off it's not because "I want kill skills", it's because an enemy with their hands up cannot shoot you so there's literally no reason to not be spamming hands up as they dom so easily the targeting from shouting is made irrelevant. The immortality makes doing this not only incredibly inconvenient, but actively harmful as now you have an immortal enemy you must maintain LoS on to prevent them from shooting you or break LoS to force them to shoot again, both of which can be incredibly awkward in soooooooooooo many situations.

There is literally no reason to complain about anti immortal doms if the player who has it has at least one functioning braincell (which anyone who bothers to get this mod probably will have unless it's a troll). I respect lobby rules only so long as they aren't predicated upon assuming the other player is stupid. Immortal doms is one of those mods that only matters if the person it's trying to hamper is a moron. It's a similar case with that one mod that blocks medbag usage when not grey, sure for the bottom 5% of players they probably will use it incorrectly, but anyone with actual braincells have plenty of reasons to use it outside of the little clear cut scenarios these mods try and lay out, such as healing right before a push to where you won't be able to use the medbag anymore.

Mods like these will never understand or be able to account for nuance in this game and detract from the experience for everyone involved

@notyouravstalin meeeeeh... I use better bots so usually all 3 AI finishes the job surrending someone, plus if I'm the one surrending them they'll be the ones keeping me safe while I do the job
I also use save equipment and thx to that people have medic bags avaliable whenever they actually need instead of all of them losing existence because someone used it as a FAK for taking a 0.1% damage... in fact I requested the reborn for that mod since the original was broken
players with about no braincells are about 95% of all players in this game, been here since the release so I know what I'm talking about. most of the mods I use are made specifically for dealing with noobs, trollers or simply ignorant players... I won't list all because I could spend the whole day listing it but here's a few of them:

  • immortal doms: we are talking about this
  • save equipment: just listed my experience above
  • overdrill helper: god knows how many times someone fucked up the whole run because they saw ME interacting with the right tiles and they thought ALL tiles were the right ones, so now they get tased if they try to
  • equipment stacker: mainly used for me to pick all meth ingredients before anyone else does because even when I have some kind of meth helper they still using the wrong ingredient, plus it keeps ingredients safe from lagged players who spram F to get them as fast as possible, glich picking one that won't count in their inventory (RIP 1 bag if not more)
  • anti-asshole mod: there's always someone stupid enough to shoot RPG on teammates more than the cops, so why not become immortal with it? I even edited the code so now not only friendly explosives but also molotovs won't hurt me (funny when it's a troller and they get mad for not being able to kill me)... "what about yakuza speed bonus?" to hell with it I never used yakuza anyway, rather have pecms :V
  • chat moderation (personal mod): finally a insta kick for anyone who says something nobody likes to hear, like racist stuff or bad mouth just because they're bad players but wanna blame someone else
  • disable hostage trade at skirmish: no exceptions, there's always someone trying to trade the hostage with only a few waves completed, and I don't like playing any heist for less than max profit
  • host has final say on preplanning: don't you just hate when someone won't check the entry/escape preplan you want to do? so why not saying in their faces "I don't give a crap about your opinion, we're doing this my way"
  • forced ready: a must have and it doesn't need a explanation
  • and more...

basically mods is what's saving the game nowadays, I'd probably had my game uninstalled a long time ago if it wasn't for the mods...
god knows I tried to help and be patient with noobs, but if nowadays they rather blame me for their own lack of skill then I say "go back to minecraft then"

@act2498 then I must be using something that fixes this and I'm not aware of, long time I don't have to trade the manager from fwb or any other civvie if I'm close enough to a cop that's been surrended earlier
