ESTQL: The LT stands for "logging truck".
Killerwolf: I think he has Stoner Withdrawal after being forced to do so many historical weapons.
Thorin: Quick, surround him with more historical commissions!
Takumi: Is it call the Spear because you can throw it- oh wait, wrong SIG Sauer grenade
Alcat: Is SIG Sauer trying to beat the M14 as the new shortest adopted US military service rifle?
Asian Rifleman Nya: Any gun mod that exists without my knowledge, exists without my permission.
Lambda: For fuck's sake RJC, can you STOP CLOGGING MY WEAPON COLLECTION WITH BARELY DIFFERENT AR10/15/18 DERIVATIVES?
The primary Spear LT will appear to others as the M16/AMR16 and is unlocked at level 40.
The secondary Reduced Signature Assault Rifle will appear to others as the Olympic K23/Para and is unlocked at level 2.
The third generation of SIMP Sauer's budget takeover rifle is a multi-caliber, jack of all trades rifle.
The primary version of the Spear LT gains access to the expected 5.56x45mm, .300 Blackout, and 7.62x39mm. Yes, a MCX chambered in 7.62 Soviet ... 10 years after the initial promise of the Gen 1 MCX being available in 7.62x39mm. Thanks for being prompt and timely, SIG Sauer.
The secondary version of the Spear LT is exclusively chambered in .300 Blackout, seeing as shorty 5.56/.300 BLK carbines are effectively replacing submachine gun as the CQB weapon of choice in military/law enforcement doctrine. The specific name, RSAR, takes its name after US SOCOM's Reduced Signature Assault Rifle contract which is being supplied with the Spear LT/Rattler LT and other SIG Sauer accessories like the SL line of suppressors.
(The RSAR contract was won by the original MCX Rattler, but the last known source on the RSAR says the Spear LT configuration is the one apparently being issued to units. Though the Rattler LT might actually be the one being issued to fulfil the contract at the moment, since SIG Sauer likes to trickle some of their contract tech back onto the civilian market and the Rattler LT's removed forward assist seems to match the removed forward assist on the 2023 MCX Spear redesign.)
Probable Future Asked Questions
Q: Hey wait a minute, I noticed these errors...
A: Yep, noted errors as far as my research went:
Spoiler!
You dont actually change the bolt carrier/internals when swapping between ammo types ... not that it matters in gameplay.
The new minimalist stock is missing a SIG Sauer logo on the cheekrest.
I am not even sure the serial number is a military contract number, but it's a joke serial number anyways.
Q: Why in the Eugene Stoner did you include the 6.75 and 7.75 inch barrels for 5.56 when knowing that neither of those barrels provide good dwell time for a cartridge dependent on velocity?
A: Don't ask me, go ask US SOCOM's procurement officers. I included them for the sake of contract completeness' sake; I'd guess SOCOM just wants those short 5.56 barrels just for simmunition/training purposes. The real RSAR is likely only going to be used in .300 BLK for the usual special forces sneaky weapon application ... and 7.62x39mm as well, if an old solicitation from SOCOM is any indication.
Q: How come the Spear LT actually hits what it's pointed at instead of the barrel/handguard shifting?!?!?! This is SIMP Sausage propaganda!!!!
A:it's a video game and i really hate missing what I point my rifle at; also there are reports of spear lts being quite capable of getting premium 1 MOA groupings
just re-torque your barrel clamp screws if you got one of those early Spear LTs whose barrel screws weren't torqued to spec lol
Q: MCX Regulator? It uses a Spear LT upper!
A: Well, if you can find an asset and can help get an animator, I wouldnt mind creating the cursed California compliant MCX, provided Regulator lower has the correct proportions.
Though if you really do care for the most cursed setup, you would honestly do better with Sledgehammer Games' 3d printed lever action Spear in 6.8x51mm offbrand fury.
