Part of this mod was requested by Jakub Berlinski (the Surefire light and retro Aimpoint on the carry handle), other parts of this mod are attachments I was personally amused by (the CAR-15 stocks, more or less).
This mod adds the following 90s themed attachments to vanilla CAR weapons only:
- Aimpoint 2000 on Carry Handle (AMCAR and CAR4)
- Surefire 660 Flashlight (AMCAR and CAR-4)
- Free Float Tube Handguard (AMCAR, CAR4, AMR16)
- Allen Engineering M4 Suppressor (AMCAR, CAR4, AMR16, Para)
This mod also adds the following universal attachments:
- 3rd Generation CAR-15 Stock
- 3rd Generation CAR-15 Stock w/ Ziptied John Masen Pad
Known Issues:
- For some perplexing reason, the Aimpoint 2000 seems to make the AMCAR upper invisible. You can fix this by either adding the p2w Radian Upper or add the Dummy Upper.
- yes i know the CAR4 version of the Allen Can can have both iron sights and the front post; I assumed most of you would equip an optic
- The Aimpoint 2000 and Surefire 660 will only change appearance with the vanilla AMCAR/CAR-4 handguards/uppers/charging handles. It is not going to be compatible for every single custom attachment out there like Frenchy's Tacticool handguards, whatever Tangerine has, and so on.
Q: Why is the Aimpoint 2000 only available on the AMCAR/CAR4?
A: Because both of their default animations involve racking the charging handle, and overkill decided that the charging handle needed to be a part of the upper instead of being its own attachments. Do note that the Aimpoint 2000 is actually zeroed for both the AMR16 and Para and the main.xml only needs a bit of editing to re-enable the Aimpoint 2000 for those two guns. See the spoiler section below for the instructions.

To re-enable the retro Aimpoint for those guns (with the full knowledge that the charging handle won't be racked on animation), you would need to edit the main.xml with any sort of code/text editor from Visual Studio Code to Notepad or Microsoft Word. Find the Aimpoint 2000 in the main.xml and locate <weapons>. Delete the "<!--" and "-->" that comments out the Para and AMR in the Aimpoint 2000's attachment data, and save your edit. This will add the Allen Engineering can to the Aimpoint and Para.

A: probably not; converting the Aimpoint 2000 and Allen can reminded me why I say way from modding vanilla weapons: dealing with the part compatibility and overkill's way of doing attachments
