Activi$ion makes a big fuss about weapon vaults giving you all you need for weapon customization, only creates 1 vault for the bobby kotick's new yacht edition
It seems odd for a company who had all of these blueprints planned out in advance and wants as many things to sell as possible. I doubt the lack of more vaults is to sucker you to stay in game for the grind, as most of the normal weapons just need ~5-10 games of shipment to fully level them.
As for why it's on vanilla weapons: the Cinder vault came to mind from a MWS request looking for a "receiver with a Punisher skull", presumably on vanilla weapons. Idk if that person found that receiver they are looking for, but maybe there's other people looking for that skull receiver look.
Known Issues:
Some iron sights/gas blocks (ex: M16 Gas Block) will clip into the handguards.
Some weapons receivers (AMCAR/Para) will still display the vanilla receiver.
Probable Future Asked Questions:
Q: Why are the red rails the wrong color? Arent they a bit bright?
A: Normally, you'd let PBR shaders take care of this. But due to Payday not using PBR-esque shaders, I generally fake a metallic look by using Nardo's metal cubemap with high specular. And this is what happened when I attempted to apply a red metal cubemap to the entire weapon.
I get the correct color, but on the wrong parts of the weapon. And I checked my metallic map, only the (bolt, charging handle, castle nut, irons, barrel, dust cover, etc) are metallic (white), so the red cubemap is unfortunately not helpful for me...
Q: Lower Receiver Compatibility with vanilla/Frenchy receivers?
A: The MW2022 receivers are one object and separating by loose parts isn't so helpful. I have no desire to do model surgery, so for my sanity, the Cinder receivers will forbid other lower receivers.
Q: Skinmaps?
A: Not interested.
Q: Add base textures/other blueprints?
A: No space. Blame the 100MB body pillow/customOST induced upload limit.
