honestly? skill issue
with this most people managed to finish all 3 objectives before the cops show up (solo or with bots of course. MP is irrelevant)
it ain't a skill issue, just quality of life and time saving stuff realy

Literally all you have to do, is run in the middle with an automatic gun and jump to quickly shoot and kill as many as possible, after that I usually have max. 5 mobsters left that are hiding, and it's not really hard to decide where they hide, because the door is either booby trapped, or the window is barricaded, or both. If you can't do it before the assault without this mod, then it is a skill issue. If it was a QOL then it would've made it into the game already. Not having outlined enemies is part of the "challenge" if you wanna call it that.

never said you needed the mod to complete the objective but just like you said you still have to search and kill ~5 mobsters and it ain't always that they barricade the windows or activate the claymore trap, the mod just make it easier for you to spot them and if you're good enough you can kill them all before they get in the rooms. again not a matter of skill, just qol and time saving stuff really... and seriously I don't think that anyone who downloaded it seems to care
I could spend the whole day here talking about mods that should have been implemented in the game since long ago but I'll list just one good exemple: crosshair mod, a PDTH vanilla feature that you could enable in the game options... why not port it to PD2 too? there ain't many fps out there with no crosshair and it's a big problem for many players cof killing floor cof
I can't speak for the other players but, after playing the same game since the beta, learning and memorizing all possible rng and being able to complete any heist without the help of players or bots on dsod multiple times then means that there ain't much stuff left to call "challenging" or even "fun". I just keep playing it cuz the mods gave the game a new look specially because of the gameplay changes regardless if it makes the game easier or harder and that's why I didn't uninstalled it... well, that and the fact I sell a skin per day thanks to the daily drops...
