The CZ 75 Short Rail is the first version of the popular CZ 75 line of handguns developed by Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod (CZ for short) in Czechoslovakia (Now the Czech Republic). Rally Vincent describes the differences from other versions the best:
"But when the Czech government decided to sell the CZ 75 in the west, they ran into two problems-- mass production, and production costs.
 In order to speed up production and get more life out of the blades of their machine tools, they lowered the grade of steel to western standards.
 I figure they extended the slide rails like that to make up for the loss of accuracy."

Sporting shorter rails and a more 'retro' look than the CZ 75 B, the Short Rail boasts higher damage and accuracy than it's modernized brother, at the cost of some stability, and a lower rate of fire.
