Although I do like the +35 fps boost this gives me, only in menus though. It's very likely that is different in other people's computers. I've found a workaround for the "huge-following shadow" problem that some people might have noticed. or not.
Open the "lower shadow map mod" folder
Select the**"tweaks.xml"** file and open it
Find the following command group
Do you see the "width" and "height" values?, you must change them to 256. Both of them. That should fix the huge shadow following you in-game. If not, I don't have any idea. After that you have to save the tweaks.xml file and, open your game and, run a heist. see if it works or not. It worked for me.
EDIT: Here's a image for ya'all
EDIT 2: Now I don't know the nature of this problem but I might have a guess. If you ask me it's something related to the shadow draw distance. You can notice the huge shadow is always following you and it tries to render the shadows that was supposed to be there, way ahead of you. But due to the low values such as "16", the shadows render on the whole map. That's my guess.

Thanks! I pinned the message for now, if enough people think it should be the default I'll apply it.
@Luffy :)
@mage6614 do you require to keep the "shadow_quality" variable to be true?
@gabsF Pretty much leaved it as disabled, but give it a try with it as true
@mage6614 outdoors enviroments works well, but when it comes to indoors, is a wacky mess

@gabsF as i sort of expected.
