Recommended mods to use with custom weapons:
Pre-Sniper Update MP5 Animations - Reverts the MP5 anims to its pre-Sniper Update version that custom weapon use.
Custom attachments for custom weapons - Adds data of custom attachments to this weapon.

That would be only a ammo conversion using the default UMP-45 magazine, just instead of 45 .ACP it would use .40 S&W rounds. I'll think of that because i'd would like to update it and add some more stuff to this UMP (mostly likely a conversion to the newest weapon template in this case.)
