For reference, the Inteceptor .45 IS an H&K MK23.
It's called the SOCOM in Metal Gear Solid since one of it's designations IS the "USSOCOM MK23". USSOCOM stands for "United States Special Operations COMmand", though is generally just referred to as SOCOM. The pistol itself IS referred to as the SOCOM Pistol since it was adopted as a primary sidearm of US Special Forces groups, and apparently the name just kinda stuck, thanks to it's notoriety.
As a side note, it's a bitch of a pistol to use if you don't have big hands. It's heavy, and designed for heavy, offensive use. That's why the USP was invented AFTERWARDS- same design, smaller profile, easier to handle. Still makes use of a threaded barrel, but the attachments are different because of the smaller size (The USP is chambered for 9mm, opposed to the MK23's .45 cal).
Now the setup used in MGS IS what people are used to seeing with it in media- the front attachment (and part of what makes the look in MGS more iconic) is a blocky combined module made specifically for the firearm's use.
This is what the Interceptor .45 looks like with the Champion's Suppressor and the Combined Module. It's about as close as you can get currently in the game.
I'd say probably a request that'd get you closer to what you're looking for would be for someone to model out a blocky laser attachment for the Interceptor and add it to the gun via beardlib with the Combined Module as a base. It's certainly doable if one has the modelling skills, I think (I do not, sadly).
Hope this helps clear things up! I for one certainly wouldn't mind seeing something like that happen.
EDIT: Also, for the record, there IS a mod that currently exists for the Interceptor to give it proper H&K markings here on Last Bullet. You can find it here. https://modworkshop.net/mydownloads.php?action=view_down&did=15902 (Not made by me.)
Are you sure the Lam module of the mk23 is a combined laser+light? If yes i can take up the request of the fully fleshed Hk23 ( e.t.a. unknown since i will be without a working pc for about 5 days)
So after a bit more intensive research, I found out something interesting about the subject.
First, from the Navy SEALs own website:
"The MK23 can also attach a high-tech Laser Aiming Module (LAM) which consists of a 3-dot system of white, self-luminous tritium dots. The LAM operates in one of 4 selected modes: visible laser only; visible laser/flashlight; infrared laser only; and infrared laser/illuminator. The MK23 is kept in the armories of both the SEALs and the Special Boat Teams."
However, the LAM THEY are referring to is the PEQ-6, which is the final product actually accepted for service.
As it so turns out, the boxy LAM that's become so synonymous with the "SOCOM Pistol" in media (most notably MGS) is actually the prototype LAM that was used during the trials, best as I can tell, and, I feel stupid for not remembering sooner, it's even mentioned in the damn game that the gun's fitted with a prototype LAM (as a convenient explanation for how you're able to handily aim your gun top-down in the game).
As a result, most of the SOCOM images you find online with that profile of LAM are actually of a Tokyo Marui Mark 23 airsoft replica that they reproduce. It maintains the boxy profile and has a flashlight in it, but also a couple of holes where a laser can be, it would seem. In fact, the very first image in my post above this one actually IS a photo from that specific model.
The way I see it, you could do it a couple of ways. You could make the LAM shown in the picture above and that'll work. But since the post is about an MGS styled one, you COULD take inspiration from the airsoft version and make that one instead, and still have it function as both (you could call it the "Solid Module" or something). Or make both if you wanted, though that'd probably be a lot of extra work and I don't know how in-depth you wanted to go. Ultimately it's up to you, and I'm terrible at modding, so the best I can do is provide this research. I hope it helps.
Not to sound like a buzzkill but the Interceptor .45 is not a Mark 23, but a USP Tactical. Very similar, but the Mark 23 is just a larger version of the same design. Another note, a normal USP can be chambered in 9mm, .45 ACP, and .40 S&W. The Tactical varients only come in .45 ACP and .40 S&W, while the Mark 23 only came in .45 ACP.
I apologize if this is severe necro-ing or something like that (actually took a break from Payday for a while), but I did want to check and see if there was still any interest for this project. I think a "boxy" MGS style LAM for the Interceptor would still be really cool (and pair it with the Champion's suppressor and you're set), but I also know it falls within the realm of modelling, and is a lot more involved than just porting a model over from another game.

Oh, most certainly. You could just rip it from Modern Warfare Remaster and set it up to be a weapon laser. It would require a lot of work tho
I have the COD MW Remastered USP 45 rip
With the boxy LAM gadget..
Model and Texture seems to be fine (minus the slide, you'll know if you can load the model)
I'll just put it here in case someone have the motivation to mod it in
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4WHWETleGJ2dzJ3RzJzNEozZHM
I have converted the model to FBX and textures still in VTF format
Probably would need to have someone good with textures fiddle with it, yeah. Wow, that...REALLY works well otherwise, though. Looks like it fits the profile of the USP pretty much right on the money as far as the model goes.
EDIT: Seems to be in VTF format...it's been a really long time since I did any texture modding for TF2, but I can give this a shot.
EDIT 2: I think this might work! I used the reference pic in your previous post. All I had to do was colorize it just a little in photoshop to match the USP (which i didn't realize how subtly -brown- the USP ingame is until now). Deposited it here, tell me if it works.
Actually I thought the SOCOM was an H&K USP .45 usually equiped with a high grade laser light combo and a threaded barrel for suppressors. The H&K MK23 is a tad larger but looks quite similar. (Then again I wouldn't know anything from MGS, but guns are something I do know a bit of and typically the Socom is refered as an H&K .45)
