What is your favorite PD2 DLC?
Avatar

My favorite DLC has to be the BBQ Pack. It has so much good stuff. The Flamethrower is not really practical, but it is SUPER fun to use in my opinion. Also, the Steakout was one o my favorites back when Hoxton Breakout was the best mission to grind for XP on. The Steakout is a crazy good shotgun, although maybe not on Reinfield's tier. Also, the Piglet may honestly be my favorite gun in the game, it is a total killing machine on missions like Rats and Hoxton Breakout, and can wreck anyone in almost any situation. Also, the Poker is a great melee weapon for dodge. I bought BBQ the day it came out at full price, because flamethrowers look amazing. Oh and I almost forgot the Molotov, best throwable.

What is your favorite DLC, and WHY? WHY do you love it so much?

Western Pack, western themed nuff said.

But seriously, I love the Revolvers and Bows. So it is like my perfect pack (excluding the Chivalry pack because it is pretty cool aswell, except the Western Pack is cooler :P)

Hoxton breakout / Election day / Diamond store.
Cuz they are all FREE dlc.
FREE dlc who aren't p2w, who don't add cheaty weapon and make the "basic payday 2" weapon useless, who don't add cheaty weapon to one-shot a special unit...
shield ? no pb have a sniper...
Dozer ? np have a rocket...  :yay:
cloaker ? np i can tase him...
group of shield ? np have a grenade launcher...
Health ? np I can regen hp with my deck, just have to run and shoot everything around me like a sheep in a field (yeah don't even need to kill them   :sheep:  )

FREE dlc who don't add stupid character who have no relation with the usual Payday Gang :hoxton:  :dallas:  :wolf:  :chains:

FREE dlc whit a logic, not a "forklift simulator" or a "soapy car simulator" :faint:

And not all these shitty dlc where you're supposed to encounter cops with "100% legit/logic/valid" weapons like bow/crossbows/sword/fork/rocket/flamethrower/sniper/70y old+ weapons....

Yeah now it's not "Payday 2" where you have to rob something but "WARDAY 2" where you have to kill cops with 99 differentes and stupid way (Oh a Heavy Dozer shoot at me... I know I'll wallk to him with my sword !)  :faint:

I do agree with a lot of the things you say here. I do believe Overkill is really going overkill on these DLC's (pun intended...is it really even a pun?)and I do hate the character packs. In my honest opinion, I haven't bought a single character pack because of how shitty I think they are. Why the hell would you want a new heister? Are the originals not enough? Character packs are expensive and literally none of the weapons or stuff inside character packs are good. The perk decks are okay and some balancing still needs to be done. Paying for characters is a stupid idea in my opinion.

However, I believe weapon DLC's are fine. They literally only guns to the game. Vanilla guns are fine. The CAR-4 is still in the game, and it's still really good. The default weapons are fine, if you are actually good and know how to mod and use them. Also, the weapon packs are really only there for fun. Payday 2 is a giant grinding game. Repeat heists for more money and XP, while making fun builds and using new weapons. It's literally almost a rinse and repeat. The DLC's just really help in spicing it up and adding new flavor to a game in need of a new recipe. Food references aside, character packs are stupid as fuck and they add a new person. Alright, cool. Some random asshole who comes in trying to be part of the group. GUNS on the other hand, WOOHOOO! More firepower please!

Best Free DLC: Hoxton Breakout
It's rather straightforward, gives good EXP and is a great place to test suitability of build and weapons.
Worst Free DLC: Swat Turret
I honestly feel Swat Turrets aren't hard, just really really annoying and breaks up the flow of the game.
Best Payed DLC: BBQ Pack
Was a tough choice for me but the AA12 is lovely, The Flamethrower is silly, Dragon's Breath rounds are fun to mess around with, Molotov are my go to throwables and the masks are lackluster but can be silly.
Worst Payed DLC: Golden Grin
Kinda hard for me to pick this one but it's just so boring and unoptimized. It had potential but in reality, If you hype something for that long and it's not the 2nd coming of Christ, it's going to be a letdown.

Honorable Mentions:
Armored Transport: Gruber is such a cute little gun.
AK/CAR: Bringing AKs into the meta, Thank you based Butcher.
Shotgun Pack: Ammotypes are 3gud.

Dishonorable Mentions:
Armored Transport: The missions are just a pain on Deathwish.
Chivalry Pack: Had too much hype for such a lackluster DLC, Other DLC easily outclass it.
Completely Overkill Pack: I feel like I'm going to regret buying this.

Meltdown. Fuck their crappy ass DLC system.

I agree @up guy, meltdown the best DLC for me. Cool heist.
Second best DLC is Gage Mod Courier, many modifications to useless guns that are one of the best xd
Third and last - Golden Grin - Second fav heist. Blimp Escape is like the scene from Saints Row The Third when you rob a bank at the start. Hold to cables and fly away (even if you fail the heist in SR xD)
Honorable Mention - Clover Character Pack - tits
Most Hated DLC - Overkill Pack - Many noobs just buyed a game, played jewelry store dw with cheater, equipped minigun and ran into the dozer shooting him with it and then die. If you aren't going to help them 'cause skulldozer or something they quit the game and you fail it with 2 bots. Rip in pepperoni.

I agree with a lot of your choices.

-Having AK CAR is nice because I prefer AK's over M4(car's) and bringing them into meta was great
-BBQ pack is life, molotovs for area denial is sweet
-Golden grin was really overhyped and overall shitty agreed, was kinda fun the first time stealth
-Hox Breakout was great but kind of not as good anymore because of EXP update

Easily has to be the HM2 crossover DLC. The Sociopath perk deck is insanely good at the moment, allowing you to stay in the fight infinitely if you kill a lot more like I tend to do. The Carpenter's Delight is pretty good, and the Jacket's Piece is a top tier SMG along with the Kross. Jacket himself is amazing, funny and well developed. The only downside here is a lack of temporal sense.

Agree, Jacket is a great character. Hotline DLC probably is my favorite Mission DLC and/or Character DLC.

I mean just HM2 crossover. I find the Hotline DLC while good for the Cobra, my favorite SMG, lackluster overall with just the axe being a contender for a great melee. The mission itself has since been overshadowed by breakout in terms of XP, though I will always have fond memories of farming HM.

Alesso was fun just for the maze like map and the fun and chaos of killing in the tight spaces, and I only found it interesting loud (not even sure if you can stealth).

Sure the Molotov is about on par with the regular grenade, but no throwables besides the cards are even below the others, as the cards in and of themselves aren't bad. Yes, the Piglet is good, but not enough to warrant the pack, and the AA-12 is a slightly better Izhma, big woop.

Bruh, you left out the actual flamethrower which is fun as hell! Also, the poker is a great dodge melee, and the masks are somewhat funny. I use the chef hat on Cook Off and i cook ALL the meth bruh. There is way more to the pack than just the piglet and the molotovs :3

I'm going for practicality in my responses. The flamethrower is barely useful past shields, which snipers outrank it on. The poker, while yes it's a good melee, is still a melee. Masks don't really matter to gameplay. In terms of fun, yeah, this one's up there. Dragon's Breath is fun on a Predator.

In terms of fun then I'd probably say the Chivalry pack. As much as I love the practicality of the new axe, I can't deny it's fun to run around Javelining Dozers, or bashing a guard's face in with a shield :)
