I need you guys to kidnap a manager for me. He's under FBI security, however, so this won't be a walk-in-the-park...

Manager Mayhem is a two day long custom heist, which is a complete redo of the original Manager Mayhem. It features custom continent and a new, less random, custom mission!

Hopefully you'll enjoy this heist as much as I do! The heist is enjoyed best in stealth, but you can also go loud if that's more your style!

Installation instructions:
1) Download and install BeardLib:
2) Download the heist files
3) Extract the files -> Make sure that the files are at the top level directory (e.g.: Manager Mayhem/ NOT Manager Mayhem/Manager Mayhem/
4) Copy the newly extracted directory and paste it into /Maps in your Payday 2 game directory. If this directory doesn't exist, then you may create it yourself. Make sure to add the capital M!
5) Have fun!


The heist is fully playable in multiplayer. The BeardLib issue that previously had you crash has been adressed.

Fixed an issue where the editor is somehow unable to load particular units due to the LuaJIT update. These units have been temporarily disabled until the issue is resolved (unless replaced by others).

The following units were affected:
- secret_stash_light_security_2
- air_prop_terminal_lamp_ceiling
- light_omni_seq

Note, that light_omni_seq was responsible for all the lights being dynamic, allowing you to destroy them & have the light turn off. These have been replaced by light_omni (static lights) and thus breaking the lamps will no longer get rid of the light source.
This also means that the red flashing lights when going loud will no longer appear.

Added auto-updates

Fixed a hole in one of the walls
Fixed an issue where objectives didn't appear when using an older version of BeardLib
Removed the day 2 instant-civ alert
Moved the navigation splitters into the editor_only continent, so the AI won't walk on them anymore. Should fix "floating" guards.

Quickly lowered cop spawns after release after a couple of complaints
Feel free to steal, but do make sure to claim it as your own in case you do!

You're better off contacting me on Twitter (DMs are open to anyone), Reddit or Youtube (or email me directly). I check up on those very often and can often give you better instructions that way. :)

But as a quick answer: You can't use MP3 files. Follow the Beardlib Music Module instructions on how to convert files to the correct "music" format and use those files for the voices.

Quacker, i got the thing, but i don't know how to insert the lines in the first place. Can i Send the files as mp3 so that you can arrange them? You can also take my heist and arrange it from there.

@erenandsmiledog: You can make a hook based on the Beardlib Music Module and use those as your custom voicelines. Rather simple modification.

I made a hook a while ago. Here's a DL:

Can't guarantee this still works with LuaJIT, though. Note that this is the /mods version and you'll have to rework it a bit to become a hook. You won't have to change any code, just look at the mod.txt file and make sure to use the <hook .../> in the main.xml correctly to append the hooks on the correct locations.

I magically got it to work after a long and stressful time of finding invalid units. I practically had to go through every single unit individually by hand, as the editor didn't pick up that they were incorrect (as they are loaded in the package)! I'm hoping to get the heist back into it's old state as soon as possible, but at least it's now playable and the removed props aren't very obvious, as they were just minor details.

@Wolfgang (2): This has to do with the LuaJIT update (or, at least, has been occuring since that update). Been trying to fix it for days without a solution.

I hope to have this resolved in the near future.

i started to play the heist and then during the loading screen the game crashes

i honestly don't know if it's my computer being on the slower side or it not being compatible with the current blt and beardilb But can you reply so i can resolve the issue

I currently work 9 to 5, so I don't have a lot of time for custom heists. May take two weeks, may take a month, may take two... who knows. - It all really depends on how "lucky" I get with the editor and props and whether things work out the way I want them to straight away. Fixing things always costs a bunch of time... :S - Either way, I'll try my best and when it's done, it'll be uploaded. That's pretty much my entire "schedule" with this heist. :)

Really liking this heist man, have played it quite a lot. I read that you're releasing a new one soon.. any estimate as to when we can expect it?

The computer hack; I get that it's not that fun speedrun-wise, especially when you've had a good layout with the harddrives, for example, and you're forced to restart bc you aren't going to make it after already investing a bunch of time...

I do think below 5 min. is possible. In theory, you would have to find only 3 harddrives & the computer would only jam once (there is a 10.0% chance for this!) & you would save significant time. You'd have to be really lucky though! :)

I (tried to) speedrun this heist on OD, and did it in 5:59 GT both days. Despite having a ton of RNG the heist is still pretty fun to run, at least until the computer hack part on day 1 (random number of breaks is quite frustrating, in my PB I got 2 breaks so easy 30s save). Level design on this one is top-notch.
Anyway here's the video if you want:

Sub-5mn is most likely possible and I may try to do it, either way looking forward to your next heists.

@The Original Pancake: Oh, really? I thought I actually exceptioned that! - I do remember we having a look at that and making sure that it worked... Something else must've broken it afterwards. :\

Oh well - What's the chance of that happening anyway, right? :P

@stobarticus: Thank you very much! There are some things which I should've fixed earlier that you've pointed out (medic bag + windows). I feel like the heist is "too old" at the moment to actually bring in a patch with a few minor fixes, so I'm not sure if I'll fix it anytime soon. I might run some kind of "patch day", where I'll update all my heists at once with a bunch of fixes, but I'll have to see.

saw this heist on m0rtifer's channel and was really impressed, so had to try it myself.
Great level design, really nice attention to detail. The use of assets and multiple objectives, all really well thought out. This is some great work.

Here's my OD solo, no AI or converts, run

Some bugs I found:
The windows at 1:10 - got knocked out of those once, out of the map
For some reason, couldn't exit through the vent at the end of a run once.. not sure if maybe the angle I shot the vent from on entry left a bit of vent in the way
The doc bag asset on day 2 isn't appearing
Day 2, I got stuck in crouch behind the computer you hack

Really good stuff, I wish there were more custom heists like this! Big thumbs up.

Yea I know I'm late for the party LOL but I have to say amazing work Quackertree! I love the heist. Outstanding design! I can see you put a lot of time into this. It was a lot of fun to play! :)
