Auto-Med - Smart Medical Assistant for Road to Vostok
⚠️ Dev Build (v2.0.0) - this mod is still in active development. Back up your save and report any bugs you hit.
Requirements
- Road to Vostok
- Mod Loader - you must have the RTV Mod Loader installed. This mod
ships as a.vmzpackage and needs the loader to unpack and run it.
Grab it from ModWorkshop if you haven't already.
No other dependencies. Standalone mod.
What it does
Auto-Med watches your injury flags and HP in real time, automatically stocks the right cures into your inventory, and surfaces a clean on-screen triage card that tells you exactly what to heal and with what key. No more fumbling through your medical pouch mid-firefight.
Press F10 → heal whatever's worst.
Hold F10 → pick a specific injury from a scrollable menu.
Press F8 → open the Settings panel.
Features
Auto-stock on every injury
Take a hit, get restocked. Auto-Med gives 1 item of the right cure whenever you get injured - Bandage for bleeds, Splint for fractures, Balm for burns, Medkit for ruptures, IFAK for head trauma. Plus 1 Painkillers for HP refills. Inventory full? Items queue for a smart ground drop that waits until you've stopped moving so they don't scatter behind a sprint.
Triage card - know what to heal
A small card in the lower-third of the screen shows the worst active injury, its cure, and the bound heal key. Auto-prioritized by in-game HP-drain research:
Head Trauma → Rupture → Fracture → Burn → Bleeding
After you heal one, the card auto-advances to the next-priority injury. One key, unlimited cycle. If a worse injury arrives mid-display (bleed → headshot), the card border flashes red-orange so you can't miss the swap.
Hold-to-pick picker menu
Hold F10 for ~0.15 seconds and a picker opens listing every active injury + an HP Refill row + a Close option. Scroll with the mouse wheel, press 1-9 to commit directly, or release F10 to commit whatever's highlighted. The menu only captures wheel + number keys - WASD, aim, fire, reload all pass through so you stay in the fight.
HP Refill system
Some damage sources don't set an injury flag - fall damage, grenades, fire that just chews HP. Auto-Med watches for sudden HP drops and stocks 1 Painkillers so you always have a pill in reserve. After all your injuries are cleared, if your HP is still below 100, the triage card surfaces a "HP REFILL - Apply Painkill." prompt. Same F10 key. +20 HP.
15-second auto-hide
The card doesn't nag forever. After 15 seconds on the same target, it quietly disappears so it doesn't obstruct your view. Timer pauses during an active heal or while the picker is open. Fully configurable via Settings.

Compatibility
- CheatMenu compatible — if CheatMenu's own AutoMed toggle is ON, this mod automatically steps aside to avoid double-stocking. Run both without conflict.
- Inventory phantom-slot bug fixed — cures are consumed cleanly through the game's grid-occupancy map, so emptied slots accept new drops correctly (a bug that bit the vanilla v1.0.6).
Installation
- Download
AutoMed.vmz - Drop it into your Road to Vostok
mods/folder - Launch the game — the mod auto-loads and auto-enables
Config lives at user://automed_settings.cfg and persists every change.
Known scope for this build
- Full feature parity with CheatMenu's integrated AutoMed (ported through 10+ internal releases)
- Need-based stocking, HP-damage detection, priority-escalation flash, live picker header, triage auto-hide - all in
- May have bugs - especially around unusual modifier combos, mid-heal scene transitions, and edge cases in the HP-damage watcher
