warning: very lazily made. i just put in numbers that sounded alright, used it in-game, and it worked alright. literaly no consideration for actual breakpoints or shots to kill or any of that technical crap.
made using croveaux' rebalance template. again, i am lazy. the rebalance template isn't though. just make sure you don't mess up the syntax like i did during testing if youre gonna use the damn thing or the game might not even launch.
i felt like the ks12 in the game wasn't very nice to use stats-wise when using it in santa's workshop on death wish. yeah i get its a high-ish spawnrate cqc map but a close quarter oriented 12.7x55mm rifle should hit hard like one, goddamnit!
i mean seriously, can't it shoot out engine blocks? or am i thinking of another rifle/caliber?
list of changes:
buffs:
damage increased from 115 base to 130 base. more solidly puts it inbetween the 100-ish damage battle rifles and the 160-ish damage DMRs. firerate is so damn low it might as well have some power to catch up to those guns.
threat increased from 10 to the maximum of 43. correct me if i'm wrong but this thing seems like it would be loud as shit without a supressor, might as well make the cops react like it is. arguably not a buff if you dont like cops trying to dive into cover. also i didn't change the threat of any of the supressors, in fact i dont even know how much supressors decrease threat by, so it might still make them dive when supressed on occasion. which arguably doesn't make sense cuz i think this thing is subsonic.
nerfs:
concealment decreased from 16 to 12. not a problem for tank players like me, but good luck dodge builds. not like you need crits for it on death wish, from my (limited) playtesting.
magazine size decreased from 30 to 20, think thats what it can carry in real life? even if not it's still not that bad considering the slugish firerate on the thing.
total ammo decreased from 90 to 80, mostly just to fit snug with the new mag size. unless youre using lock n' load aced. which you probably are on an assault rifle build, i guess. not like base game guns care most of the time anyways.
decreased base stability from 28 to 20.
ammo pickup reduced from (2.70 , 4.05) to (2.25 , 3.85). tiny ass change, but maybe you'll notice it if you dont play with bots and their 60% increase to ammo pickup often. which i do, so it really is just random filler.
the actual kick values were increased to the high fucking heavens. well, more like a little under double (based on wiki values). this was not tested in the base game, only with static recoil because thats how i like recoil to be when i play the game, so beware that it may be harder or easier to control with vanilla recoil mechanics than what i intended. yes, i'd idealy have something similar for other high-powered automatic weapons because recoil on almost all of the automatic weapons in base payday 2 is just vibrating with a tiny bit of upwards recoil which doesn't feel very nice or require much control from the user in my opinion. sorry for ranting at random.
you can easily change these values or remove lines of code to revert them to base values if you don't like something i changed here, which i suspect will happen a lot cuz its honestly more nerfs than buffs now that i look back at it. i trust you can figure it out, you're a smart cookie :3
recommended mods
EFT KS12 weapon sounds: sounds pretty goddamn punchy to me. i don't remember how the base game gun sounded to be honest, but it's probably pretty lame if i have this mod to change it.
EFT KS12 reload animations: goes well with the other mod. or the other way around i guess. again, dont remember the base game reloads, but these are pretty alright.
static recoil: it was explained earlier, i tested this and will use it with static recoil so if you do too you can get closer to the creator's vision or some bullshit like that.
slightly exagerated FPS muzzle flashes: you can't see shit when you're magdumping the KS12 with this mod, it's fucking perfect! please note: that statement may apply to a lot of weapons. the author of that mod also has a third person muzzle flash pack and a tracer pack if you really like not seeing a goddamn thing.
