"Keep yubbin' that big mouth, while it's still attached to your bloody neck!"
Adds the stock Sniper Rifle from Team Fortress 2 as a custom sniper rifle.
The weapon unlocks at level 27 and appears as the R93 Sniper Rifle to players who own the Gage Sniper Pack, appears as the AMCAR Rifle otherwise.
This weapon is (almost) a perfect recreation of Sniper's rifle from TF2. It has no spare magazines, and only has 25 rounds in its single "magazine". Just like in TF2, the rifle has no spread, no damage ramp-up or fall-off. After zooming in there is a 0.3 second delay before the charge meter begins to fill. The higher charge, the more damage a shot deals and the clearer the dot becomes. The damage dealt by a shot only starts increasing after second of charging (33% charge meter) and reaches max damage after a total of 3 seconds of charging for an overall charge time of 3.3 seconds from the moment of zooming in to the moment of reaching full charge. The charge meter resets to 0% after a shot is fired or when unscoping without shooting. Firing the Sniper Rifle while unzoomed deals the same damage as a scoped bodyshot at 0% charge.
If the player hits a headshot, a shot to an enemy's head while zoomed in, it is a guaranteed "critical" hit with a distinctive "crit" shot SFX. Headshots cannot be hit while unscoped. The Sniper Rifle is unable to headshot for 0.2 seconds after zooming in.
The weapon is best played with the "Hold to Aim" option turned off.
Optional additions:
Spoiler!
The Sniper Rifle comes with a bundle of custom cosmetic attachments, allowing the user to personalize it how they like. Those options include:
- Australize Weapon: Turns the rifle into its Australium variant.
- Classic Festivizer: Wraps the barrel of the rifle with a classic 2012 version of the Festivizer. Flashes different colors every 1.5s.
- Killstreak Sheens: Adds a Specialized Killstreak "sheen" effect to the weapon. Includes all 8 color options.
- MvM Botkiller Heads: Those appear in the "Charm" category. Includes all currently used botkiller head options (excluding the unused Uranium and Mirror heads). All heads have physics, and move side-to-side, as well as up and down.
Optionally, the weapon comes built-in with an intentional quirk/bug: Upon fully charging the rifle, unscoping within a 0.66s period will cause the "fully charged" ping SFX to play 18 times in very rapid succession. This quirk can be turned off by changing the true variable to false in the self._UNSCOPE_SOUND_JOKE_ENABLED line, located in thenewraycastweaponbase.lua hook, at line 39.
