Turn Crime Spree into a roguelike run with collectible items, scaling difficulty, and passive progression - inspired by Risk of Rain 2.
Every 20 Crime Spree ranks, you pick an item that stacks and grows stronger the more times you pick it up. Choose your difficulty at the start, watch your build come together, and see how far you can push it.

Features
-
22 Collectible Items with 4 rarity tiers:
- Common (white) — small, reliable boosts
- Uncommon (green) — stronger effects
- Rare (blue) — build-defining
- Contraband (orange) — powerful tradeoffs
Items stack infinitely. The more you pick up, the stronger the effect — but Contraband items always come with a downside.
You can see every item effect if you click on link below.
I STRONGLY recommend to NOT look at the table before playing the mod for yourself. But, it's your choice.https://github.com/Scribbletalk/CrimeSpree-Roguelike/wiki/Items

New modifiers (only 2 for now)
https://github.com/Scribbletalk/CrimeSpree-Roguelike/wiki/Modfiers
-
Reworked and/or fixed old modifiers
For example, in vanilla crime spree modifier that replaces shield unit with Captain Winters' shield are broken and increases their spawn rate significantly. This mod fixes that.
-
Difficulty Selection:
Choose from Normal to Death Sentence when starting a Crime Spree. Higher difficulty means tougher enemies but better rewards.
-
Passive progression
Every Crime Spree rank gives a small permanent boost to your run:
- Max Health and Armor grow by +0.2% per rank
- Weapon damage grows by +0.04% per rank
- HP regeneration scales with your max health
The same applies to AI teammates but with slightly different numbers.
-
Printers
Just like in Risk of Rain you have access to printer. It's available in "Printer" tab next to items. There you can exchange your random item to other item of the same rarity.
-
Cash-Based Ranking
-
All cash you earn during a mission - from bags, loose loot, and killing enemies - is converted into bonus ranks at the end. Kill cash scales with your current CS rank. Killing civilians deducts cash. Leftover cash carries over to the next mission.
-
The cash required per rank scales with your run's difficulty.
-
-
Enemy scaling system
As you become stronger, so do enemies:
- HP/Damage scaling every rank but slower (not every 50 like in vanilla)
- Loud and stealth modifiers now added every 20 ranks and longer can be selected, they are now random.
-
Logbook
A codex that tracks every item you've found. Undiscovered items appear as "?" — unlock them by picking them up during a run and completing it.
Logbook button can be found under Inventory button while you are in the Crime Spree lobby.
-
Stats page
Live breakdown of your current build: health, armor, regen, dodge, speed, weapon damage — split into base, skill, CS rank, and item contributions.
-
Seed system
Each run generates a deterministic seed. Your modifiers and items are saved and persist through game restarts.
