Turn Crime Spree into a roguelike run with collectible items, scaling difficulty, and passive progression - inspired by Risk of Rain 2.
⚠️ If your version is below alpha-1.0.3, please re-download the mod to enable automatic updates. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Every 20 Crime Spree ranks, you pick an item that stacks and grows stronger the more times you pick it up. Choose your difficulty at the start, watch your build come together, and see how far you can push it.
Features
-
20 Collectible Items with 4 rarity tiers:
- Common (white) — small, reliable boosts
- Uncommon (green) — stronger effects
- Rare (blue) — build-defining
- Contraband (orange) — powerful tradeoffs
Items stack infinitely. The more you pick up, the stronger the effect — but Contraband items always come with a downside.
You can look every item effect below. I STRONGLY recommend to NOT look at the table before playing the mod for yourself. But, it's your choice.
Spoiler!
| Name | Rarity | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Dog Tags | Common | Increases maximum health by 10% (+10% per stack, linear). |
| Duct Tape | Common | Increases interaction speed by 5% (+5% per stack, linear). Interaction speed affects lock picking, bagging loot, reviving and repairing, etc. |
| Escape Plan | Common | Increases movement speed by 3% (+3% per stack, hyperbolic). |
| Worn Band-Aid | Common | Increase health regeneration by 5 (+5 per stack, linear) every 10 seconds. |
| Piece of Rebar | Common | First hit on an enemy deals +20% (+10% per stack, linear) damage. |
| Evidence Rounds | Uncommon | Increases damage from ALL sources by 10% (+10% per stack, linear). |
| Falcogini Keys | Uncommon | Increases chance to dodge by 5% (+5% per stack, hyperbolic). Successful dodgin blocks incoming damage (does not work on self-inflicted damage). |
| Wolf's Toolbox | Uncommon | Killing regular enemies reduces active drill/saw timer by 0.1 second(s) (+0.05s per stack, linear). Killing special enemies reduces timer by 1 second(s) (+0.5s per stack, linear). |
| Pink Slip | Uncommon | Killing any enemy restores 5 (+2.5 per stack, linear) health. |
| Overkill Rush | Uncommon | Killing any enemy grants you a rush stack. For each rush stack your fire rate and reload speed increase by 2% (+1% per stack, linear). All rush stacks expire 4 seconds after the last kill. |
| Bonnies's Lucky Chip | Rare | Killing any enemy grants you a rush stack. For each rush stack your fire rate and reload speed increase by 2% (+1% per stack, linear). All rush stacks expire 4 seconds after the last kill. |
| Plush Shark | Rare | Protects from lethal damage once per life. On activation restores 20% maximum health and grants invulnerability that lasts 10 seconds (+20 per stack, linear). Can be activated again if you were freed from custody. |
| Jiro's Last Wish | Rare | Grants an ability to sprint while charging a melee attack. Increases melee damage by 50% (+50% per stack, linear). |
| Dearest Possession | Rare | Healing received at full HP is converted into temporary shields. Shield cap: 50% of maximum health (+50% per stack, linear). Shields decay at 20% per second. |
| Viklund's Vinyl | Rare | Dealing damage chains 20% of it to 2 nearby enemies (7m radius). Chain chance per wave: min(100%, (stacks + 2 - wave) × 50%). Stops when chance reaches 0. |
| Dozer Guide | Contraband | Increases armor by 50% (+50% per stack, linear) and damage by 5% (+5% per stack, linear) from ranged and melee weapons. But decreases movement speed by 15% (+15% per stack, linear) (cannot be lower than 60% of normal movement speed) and chance to dodge by 5% (+5% per stack, linear). |
| Glass Pistol | Contraband | Multiplies damage from ranged and melee weapons by x1.5 (x1.5 per stack, multiplicative). But divides max health and armor by 2 (+2 per stack, multiplicative). |
| Equalizer | Contraband | Increases damage against special enemies by 50% (+50% per stack, linear). But reduces damage against regular enemies by 50% (-50% per stack, linear). |
| Crooked Badge | Contraband | After each assault, 30% (+20%, hyperbolic) chance to restore 1 down. Chance above 100% guarantees multiple downs. But bleedout timer is reduced by 10 (+1s, hyperbolic) seconds. |
| Dead Man's Trigger | Contraband | When going down you explode dealing 480 (+240 per stack, linear) damage in a 3 (+2 per stack, linear) meter radius. Damage scales with Crime Spree rank. |
-
Difficulty Selection:
Choose from Normal to Death Sentence when starting a Crime Spree. Higher difficulty means tougher enemies but better rewards.
-
Passive Progression
Every Crime Spree rank gives a small permanent boost to your run:
- Max Health and Armor grow by +0.1% per rank
- Weapon damage grows by +0.05% per rank
- HP regeneration scales with your max health
-
Make Loot Great Again
Every bag you secure will increase rank by 1.
-
Kill-Based Ranking
Your Crime Spree rank increases based on kills, but each bonus requires more kills than the last (50 kills = 1 rank → 75 = 2 rank → 100 = 3 rank → and so on...). Scaled by player count.
-
Enemy Scaling System
As you become stronger, so do enemies:
- HP/Damage scaling every rank but slower (not every 50 like in vanilla)
- Loud and stealth modifiers now added every 20 ranks and longer can be chosen, they are now random.
-
Logbook
A codex that tracks every item you've found. Undiscovered items appear as "?" — unlock them by picking them up during a run and completing it.
Logbook button can be found under Inventory button while you are in the Crime Spree lobby.
-
Stats Page
Live breakdown of your current build: health, armor, regen, dodge, speed, weapon damage — split into base, skill, CS rank, and item contributions.
-
Seed System
Each run generates a deterministic seed. Your modifiers and items are saved and persist through game restarts.
How to Start
- Install mod. Intructions
- Open the Crime.net and on the left in the navigation pad click on the Crime Spree icon, select difficulty, and you are good to go.
Compatibility
- Works with: Vanilla, HUD mods (WolfHUD, VanillaHUD Plus, Warframe HUD), weapon rebalances, small QoL mods
- Does NOT work with: Full overhaul mods (Restoration Mod, etc.) that heavily change Crime Spree or enemy systems
- Multiplayer is untested and may have issues
Note that mod may be unbalanced and buggy. I am very looking forward for your feedback!
