Cleaner Costs for Police Hostages
This mod causes cleaner costs to activate when you kill a surrendered enemy.
The mod is configurable. You can change whether the cleaner costs activate only if you're playing by yourself. You can set up a multiplier up to 5x for the cleaner costs specifically for surrendered enemies. You can even change whether or not kills vs. surrendered enemies should increase the trade delay timer when you enter custody.
By default, the cleaner costs activate only when you're playing alone, the cleaner cost multiplier is 1.5x and kills will not increase the trade delay time. You can always change these anytime you want.
Settings are located in Main Menu > Options > Mod Options > Cleaner Costs for Police Hostages
Notice
- Kills via the Graze skill will not activate cleaner costs.
- Kills against surrendered gangsters will not activate cleaner costs.
- If you are a host, your teammates will not receive cleaner costs after killing a surrendered enemy.
- If Singleplayer Only is disabled, any kills you make against a surrendered enemy, even if you are a host or not will activate cleaner costs. Teammates will not be notified of your kills.
- If Trade Delay Time is enabled, any kills you make against a surrendered enemy, even if you are a host or not will increase the time you spend in custody.
- Bain/Locke will still shout at you after a kill if Trade Delay Time is enabled. Mods that stop the voicelines from playing will work alongside with this mod.
Trivia
Spoiler!
- Originally this mod was made as a request for one person. I liked this mod a lot though, so I decided to improve on it and add more features.
- I did not think about this while making the mod, but Payday 3 has a system where cleaner costs activate on police hostages. I pretty much backported a feature from the sequel game unintentionally.
- I guess this can be a mod that increases difficulty. At its core, it will just encourage players to not even try to get a guard to surrender during stealth. Not a lot of people do that in the first place, so stealth truly won't be affected by this mod. During loud scenarios, maybe this will encourage players to try and protect their hostages a bit more. Although, players just turn any hostage they find into a convert. So, what's the point?
- I once had a cleaner cost of $250,000. It was a combination of a 5x multiplier, a lack of Sixth Sense Aced and playing on Death Sentence difficulty.
