Oldschool Dominating
This mod restores the domination mechanics from the very early versions of Payday 2.
What versions exactly? I don't know, someone else can tell me.
Before an enemy surrenders completely, you need to shout at him/her three times, similar to how it works outside of whisper mode. It might make the game a little bit more difficult if you insist on not getting any kills, but otherwise I can't see this mod changing the game all too much.
This mod only works if you are the host of a server. Clients in your server will also need three inputs to make an enemy surrender.
Notice
- Unlike older versions of the game, the pager will still go off when the enemy surrenders.
- Unlike older versions of the game, the surrendered enemy will not suddenly become invisible to every other NPC on the map.
- This mod does not include the animations you see in the video.
- Sometimes when attempting to make an enemy surrender while they are already in an action, (calling to HQ, rescuing a hostage, some unique idle animation) they will not put their hands up despite telling you not to shoot. Shout at them again to correct this.
For modders
- The code works, but it could use some work. If there's a better way to make this mod work that could potentially conflict with less mods out there, tell me right away.
Trivia
Spoiler!
- So originally the plan was to title this mod "Inferior Dominating" as a joke to paint this as the complete opposite to Better Dominating by parac0rd. Unfortunately, the mod was taken down because... moderators are lame, I guess.
- I recently was playing the very first versions of Payday 2, and noticed very quickly it takes extra inputs to make an enemy surrender during stealth. I prefer this, honestly. It never made much sense to me why an enemy immediately surrenders only during stealth.
