Q: Why do you use the M13B sounds for the QBZ-191?
A: MW2019/22 has no weapons in 5.8x42mm, I dislike Sledgehammer tin can rattling, and I actually like the QBZ-191 in Payday 3.
Gameplay wise, the 191 in Payday 3 behaves fairly similar to the M13B: low recoil, low damage, high RPM assault rifles.
Mechanics wise, it's speculated that the 191 is short stroke gas piston, just like the MCX and all the other AR18 derived weapons.
Q: Why is the 9mm Daemon used instead of the MW2019 Kimber 1911 when the SP Model 11 plays like a .45 ACP pistol?
A: I love the sounds for the Staccato P.
This particular firing sound was one of the big things I wanted in terms of audio replacement so I can pretend I'm using the TTI 2011 Combat Master in Payday 3 until more detailed weapon replacement tutorials come out.
Q: I thought this was exclusively MW2022 audio?
A: Not all the sounds have been dehashed, or some weapons lack a comparable analogue in MW2022.
For example, I was tempted to make the ISO45/APC45 stand in for the WAR45/LWRC SMG45, both being blowback operated .45 ACP submachine guns, but I dont think we have the reflection (atmo) sounds for the APC45.
Q: Wait I thought you disliked Sledgehammer's BAFTA Nominated Audio Design? Why do the Ruger 10/22 and Uzi Pro use Sledgehammer foley?
A: Correct.
It's no coincidence that the two Payday 3 peashooters that I never want to use also happen to get "blessed" with the Sledgehammer tin cans.
