What is this template?

As a mod author, you need to provide users with helpful installation instructions. So instead of spending your time creating another limited and narrow guide, for setup and installation of .pak mods for PD3. Or using the modworkshops very basic template. I've gone ahead and done all that work for you.

Copy and paste the markdown below into your mods instructions. This links to a new mod installation guide I’ve created. Your users will now have an up to date, detailed and centralised guide. Covering Steam, Epic and Xbox, with per platform troubleshooting steps. Which will help avoid frustrating and unrelated user questions on your mods (Like how do I install this for gamepass? will I get banned? or it didn't work... when it's working fine for everyone else 🙃)

  • Each main part is tailored for all three main platforms (Steam, Epic and importantly Xbox Game Pass PC).

• Why is this even important?

  • The first version of the guide was for Xbox players (as it’s slightly more involved to setup and no one mentions it in their mod instructions).
    And with Payday 3 being on Xbox Game Pass PC, that brings in a lot of new people who might not have a lot of experience with modding.
    So I've tried to write it in a way that people of all skill levels can understand.
  • Good documentation helps users avoid issues, that you then don't end up having to help them with.
