The primary focus is to replace the empty soundbanks present in the mod that makes Nick a playable heister with appropriate and fitting lines from the original L4D2 game. Additionally, replace some lines with more appropriate ones. The result is a Nick that is a little more vocal, especially when using mods that add new conditions for dialogue, such as Project: Cell.
This mod also utilizes synthetic voice programs but I try to only do so when absolutely necessary and only when the ai's output sounds passable enough. There aren't entire sentences made with the synthetic voice, only individual words like "cuffs" or "hoxton". All limitations of voice replacers still apply. Some lines repeating and some not being able to play in certain conditions will still happen. To my knowledge this is a diesel problem, so nothing can be done to fix this, at least not without some lua scripting. The experience should still be considerably seamless, even in this mod's unfinished state.
Nick will now do the following...
- comment on offensive smells
- politely greet mitchell in Counterfeit
- order his teammates to open doors
- announce when he has acquired mission assets
- lose his marbles when jumping out of the aircraft in Birth of Sky
- give pet names to Clover
- call Dragan fat
- generally give his crew insulting nicknames
- announce the start and end of assault waves (only if using Project: Cell)
- Refer to cloakers by their actual name
- Refer to some crew members by their actual names (only when there isn't an assault going on for now)
To install, go inside the original mod's folder and extract the soundbanks from this inside. Overwrite when asked.
The original nick mod by Jarey_ is a pre-requisite for this mod. It isn't technically required but what's the point of replacing Tony's voice with Nick's if you're not also going to replace his face?
