### Welcome to the Beta of Control Custom Characters.
### Play as Gladiolus, Ignis, Prompto, or Iris
Please understand this is not designed for story and quest progression and you will certainly run into bugs and limitations.
The mod however is perfect for testing outfit mods, taking pictures, and exploring much of the world as an alternate character.
Sometimes however, you will need to alt+f4 because of a softlock. Be warned
(Use Character Swap and Return to the Character to Regain Full Control of Combat and Movement)
Choose a new character to control when loading your game.
- Gladiolus
- Ignis
- Prompto
- Iris*

Though most characters can be controlled, these four characters have the most functionality out of the group. In particular, only Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto can fight in combat, assuming at least one other of the bros exists to swap to in combat. I have included files and instructions for getting the other characters as leads as well, but will require a few extra steps.
Enable included Noctis file to revert your game back to the original party. The Noctis file can also be used to load the full party at any point of the game.
This mod is partially compatible with the custom guest character mod if you load a save that already has the guest character active.
This mod does not add, or change any of the abilities or functions of the characters, it uses the native functions hidden within the game. Some of them can fight in battle, some of them can not. The results would be the same with Debug or Cheat Engine if tables existed.
~Controlling Iris (or any guest that isn't part of the main cast) will leave you without combat functionality, and you will rely on the AI state of the rest of your team for defeating enemies. See here for more information on controlling guest characters.)

If you find work arounds for bugs let me know, otherwise here are a few notes.
- Use [Character Swap] command in combat away from the character and back to them. This will fix their combat state and restore their ability to fight as they do in their DLC.
- Character Swap will also restore their ability to jump and sprint.
- 3 States - Fully functional, old A.I control, and bugged (only jump and forward).
- Camping usually works, but can cause the bugged movement state, reload the autosave and return to A.I state, or preform combat swap to regain full control. Occasionally you also will softlock and be unable to interact with anything or pull up the options menu. (Alt+f4)
- Regalia in all forms should work. As should fast travel, though fast travel will set state back to old A.I state and occasionally locks you in a black screen. I have yet to have issues with slow travel.
- Chocobo's: No whistle, renting one occasionally gets one to show up with mixed stability.
- If your chararcter can't turn, you can either reload your autosave or hop your way into combat.
- Combat is a little harder to initiate, and frequently requires attacking to start.
- Gear menu is a bit buggy, I'd recomend equipping weapons before activating, though some stuff like outfits and accesories can be changed fine.
- Gondola's can reset your party back to Noctis leading occasionally, just reload quicksave.
FOR MODDERS: I have included some extra script files with Sarah, Aranea, Cor, Ardyn, Ravus and Umbra in a pack within the files tab, as well as instructions on how to make or edit this mod for custom combination of characters here. .
If for somereason people would prefer I make a particular variant of this mod, you can comment below and I may include it as a standalone mod. I do have the files and method listed, however I didnt include make them as mods to help keep things as simple and as stable as possible instead of introducingthe more buggy variants. With that said, it will be easy for me to add new ones if people are wanting certain versions.
