Have you ever wanted to feel what it's like to play a broken run, Like a really REALLY broken run?
Clone usually gives this flair to your run, but only for a short time, too short. So here I offer you the Perfect Clone. Infinite runs. Inmortality.
You can't die. Runs will only end if:
You kill your past
You kill the Lich
You give up
The mod breaks. I can guarantee you this mod definitely has bugs.
Sure you could give yourself a Clone everytime you pop back at the start with the MTG console, but that's cheating. How do you make it not-cheating? Make it a mod! This mod! That way, it's completely legit and you get a perfect vanilla experience.
This mod is a WIP and I'm not a good programmer.
TODO:
Make a original sprite instead of the current tone-shifted one
Come up with some mechanic to pay for every restart, like credits or hearts
(Sorry in advance for the extremely long text box, but please hear me out) I have an Idea as to how you could go about adding this to the base game as an obtainable Item that wouldn't be too broken. I personally think that you should either add a new NPC or a new character. If you go for a new NPC, do something like Daisuke where you can spend 5 or more Hedgemony Credits to play through a run with the perfect clone as an effect rather than an item. Alternatively, you could add a new character kinda like The Paradox that costs 5 or more Hedgemony Credits to play as, with their own unique starting weapon, alternitive weapon (if you want) and the perfect clone as their starting passive item. Also, If you decide to add a new character or just keep it as an active item, here is a sprite I made as an example for how I think it should look. I think an angel is a perfect fit for a device that saves your life over and over until you win. Sorry for such a long comment, I just have so many ideas as to how this could work and Im really exited to share them with somebody lol. (P.S. if you don't decide to add a character with perfect clone as their starting item, I would love to make a mod that does (With your permission, of course.))
I love your enthusiasm and I'm very glad you liked my mod! I'd also love to do all that myself. But I'm still learning how to do this stuff and it would take me a lot of time. You clearly know much more than me and will do a great job.
I'm setting the github repo's license to Unlicense so you can really do anything you want with my code. So yeah! you'll have my permission to do it if you want!
@dino thanks! I'm gonna be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing lol. I had some ideas and when I get excited about something, I really go all out. I've never even tried making a mod, but I've got some experience with coding and I think it'd be really fun to learn how to add a new character to the game. Of course I don't want to steal your mod, I'd rather work with you and update this mod if your down for that. If you've got any fun ideas for what the character should look like or anything else, let me know!
