Introduces a new modifier called No Down that reduces the amount of downs before custody to 0 and disables nine lives on a per heist basis. This means you won't bleed out and instead go to custody immediatley. Cloakers and Tasers will still only incapacitate instead of sending you to custody. This renders nine lives, feign death, swan song, messiah, medbags (for replenishing downs), etc. useless.
Only the host is required to have the mod installed to host a No Down lobby. Clients are able to participate and will be affected by the No Down modifier no matter if they have the mod installed or not. Though having it as a Client will show proper visual indicators instead of only receiving chat messages and will lift the burden of manually confirming to play with the modifier. Clients will also be able to see lobbies marked as No Down and search for them within Crime.Net.
Through announcements about the status, a brief explanation and a one time mandatory manual confirmation, confusion about a single down resulting in immediate custody should be successfully prevented and thus enable a well rounded public lobby experience.
Please uninstall CRIME.NET Performance Improvement by Legendary Soldier. Unfortunately the mods are not compatible with each other. To make the No Down modifier visible over Crime.Net I had to override the function they fixed. To keep improved performance I decided to take their fix and implement it in my mod. I also restored friends being properly highlighted which they broke with a faulty implementation.
The following lists how having the mod affects Hosting and the players joining, aswell as the advantages of having the mod installed as a Client.
Host:
- When buying contracts the modifier can be enabled, applying No Down to every player (no matter if they have the mod themselves) in the lobby.
- Announces whether the modifier is enabled or disabled to players who dont have the mod and explains briefly what the effects of it are.
- Forces players to confirm that they want to play under the listed conditions by typing 'confirm' in the chat.
- Automatically removes players who fail to confirm within 30s.
- Shows whether a player timed out or was successful with the confirmation process.
- Saves the confirmation for each user so they never have to confirm in the hosts lobby anymore.
- While in a heist it stops players from fully loading in and thus interrupting the gameplay before they have confirmed. They will finish loading in as soon as they confirm to play with the modifier. This means that the gameplay will not be interrupted by players failing to confirm and other clients will not even notice that people are trying to join.
Client:
- Doesn't have to confirm when joining a No Down lobby.
- Synchronizes the visual indicators of No Down automatically.
- Doesn't receive chat notifications about No Down, as the visual modifier indicators are displayed correctly.
- Can see whether a lobby has the No Down modifier enabled within Crime.Net.
- Can choose a Crime.Net filter to hide, allow or show only No Down lobbies.
Visual Changes:
- When in a No Down lobby/game replaces all One Down modifier indicators with the No Down text and color.
- Shows whether a lobby has the No Down modifier enabled within Crime.Net.
