It's More Than Just a Reskin:tm:
This mod attempts to improve upon the enemy designs LGL have built by patching bugs, poor weighting, and various minor oversights with enemy models.
However... there is a catch:
This mod includes additional personal tweaks by me that I have deemed too out-of-focus for VDF, one major change being weapon-dependent enemy gear setups. That's right, enemies will utilize different gear depending on the weapon they are wielding. More details are below or in the image tab.
Spoiler!
GENERAL CHANGES:
- All enemies will have correct pouches. I won't list them in the changelog, so when I say "no changes", assume I've exclusively modified their pouches to fit the weapon they're using.
- Marked enemies will no longer have fucked up textures upon gibbing them.
- Additionally, all Regulars with the exception of the Waffen and all shotgunners may have slightly randomized pouch configurations. Some enemies will prefer to have a pistol holster on the right of their belt with an MP38 magazine on the left, or maybe they'll decide to ditch the pistol holster and take two mag pouches instead. Shotgunners will always have two rifle pouches, since I think those can very easily double as shell-pouches.
- Fixed shadows on gored enemies. Previously, they weren't properly getting enabled/disabled properly due to some shenanigans relating to graphics-groups.
- The entirety of my Dismemberment Fixes mod has made it into this one if you didn't read the above. All of the fixes from that are in here, plus some new ones that I forgot to implement in the original! So by downloading this, you get some cool ass new enemies AND bugfixes from me!
Gebirgsjäger:
-
Gebirgsjäger Riflemen now have a new face.
-
Gebirgsjäger Pistoleers now lack a hat. They have a new face too.
-
Gebirgsjäger SMG-ers have a new hat.
-
Gebirgsjäger Shotgunners share the same new hat with the SMGer, have a heavier backpack, and wear a mask that gives you a stern look. That's the best way I can describe its facial expression... go away.
-
Bugfixes: Fixed horrendous weighting on his lod 1 model. Fixed lods having wrong backpack.
-
Gebirgsjäger Veteran Riflemen have no changes.
-
Gebirgsjäger Veteran Assault Riflemen have a lighter helmet.
-
Gebirgsjäger Veteran Assault SMG-ers share a lighter helmet with the AR guy and lack the roll at the top of his backpack.
-
Gebirgsjäger Veteran Shotgunners share the light's mask and have an M35 helmet. They also have a heavier backpack.
Specials:
-
The unique and weaker 'Officer' variant of the commander that spawns on Bunker Busters now get a unique hat. I'm sorry, but I kinnnnda couldn't figure out what to do with him. I wanted to make him always the default texture incase you were using a reskin mod, but the dismemberment system just said no.
-
Bugfixes: The Commander has fixed weighting on his head. his upper head and a part of his ear no longer dents upon his neck turning down, and his neck should hopefully clip less with his suit. also, he has a proper dismembered head. radical.
-
The Elite Commander has had his head reshaped to look natural, and is no longer cockeyed. He also has a new face.
-

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Get the RAID WW2 version of the bundle modder.
- Drop the 'mods' and 'assets' folder in the root directory of RAID (the folder with the .exe in it).
- Install the bundled .pdmod with the bundle modder. It might take some time because it sucks.
- Enjoy! Or uninstall it cause you're not a fan of my changes... or a big realism weirdo. Or don't install it at all cause of the bundle modder... it's fine :(
KNOWN ISSUES
Spoiler!
- Dropped corpses will use the wrong enemy gear variation. This is theoretically fixable, but I currently do not know how to make corpses execute a specific sequence upon getting thrown down. The alternative method of fixing which I can somewhat easily do requires addfiles. (Illjia please.)
- Corpses on other people's backs will use the wrong enemy gear variation. Once again, this is unfixable until we get addfiles and a better model tool.
- The Bundle Modder. Yeah. I hope you're prepared to use that thing. I hate this relic of the past and it's been a burden on my shoulder for the past week modding RAID. I'm so sorry.
- I couldn't really get to test this mod online. It might cause desync, but the worst you'll see most likely see is someone blow off an enemy's head and see a random foot fly off instead on your screen.
- Baked on shadows look like shit. yeah.
TRIVIA:
Spoiler!
- I will likely revisit this mod if RAID ever gets an U20 or a beta branch with addfiles.
I wanted to add new faces for the Waffen Regulars, but by the time the mod was this far in dev, I ran out of files to replace. Veterans were greatly affected by this aswell, so I had to render them exempt from these changes, sadly.nvm lol
- Quite a few Regulars re-use head textures. Nothing I can do about this cause of once again, the lack of addfiles.
- This mod is pretty goddamn impressive for what it is, not cause of my garbage tweaks to the enemies themselves, but the fact that this mod proves that you can infact do cool shit with RAID enemies, even with the current extremely limited toolset.
- much blood, sweat, and tears have been poured to create this abomination you're seeing. I hope you people like it. right? please tell me you like it....
