Custom Weapon Animation Template
This template should help you add in entirely new weapon animation sets without replacing an existing one. The contents are as follows:
- assets - Contains a complete set of example animations, based on the M4 animation set.
- animation_state_machine.xml - Adds your new animation set as an option to use (more specifically, it gives it an animation 'weight' to apply).
- animation_states.xml - This defines every animation state needed for your weapon to function, such as reloading, meleeing or sprinting.
- animation_subset.xml - Provides animation filepaths for each of the animation states defined in the previous file.
- supermod.xml - Loads the above XML file tweaks using SuperBLT. You don't need to edit this.
- main.xml - This adds in your animation files by utilizing BeardLib. Also allows for auto-updates.
- mod.txt - Standard BLT mod.txt providing a mod name, description, and author. Technically not needed, but it does make this mod show up in your mods list.
As a general guideline, you'll need to edit any instances of 'example' with the ID of your animation. Make sure you read the comments in each file first though!
Note that this template does not come configured with some of the more niche animations by default, such as bipods or bayonets.
Once you are finished editing the necessary files, you can use your new animation by setting the 'weapon_hold' and 'reload_name_id' to your new animation ID.
