The AK-101 is the first 5.56x45mm version of the Kalashnikov-patterned assault rifle. It was designed in 1994 by Mikhail Kalashnikov, and was first used in 1995. Though few have been produced in comparison to the AK-47 and AK-74, it still finds use as an incredibly accurate, lightweight assault rifle.
The AK-101 is a middle ground between the AK-47 and the AK-74, being chambered in the popular and widely available 5.56x45mm NATO. It is also the most concealable of the AK weapons, as it comes with stock black, polymer furniture.
While the mod pool is small compared to the 47 and 74, the AK-101 has 17 unique modifications of it's own, and can be modified further with many vanilla attachments and add-on weapon mods.
