__This mod will now require being level 100 to function properly, please make sure you are level 100 to get proper spree rewards. This is to comply with the new changes in Update 200. __
Requires starting a new Crime Spree to take effect.
Keep in mind that starting a Crime Spree now has higher costs (explanation for this is below).
There is an issue with the current implementation of Crime Spree that this mod hopes to fix.
There is a value in the game files called winning_streak. This value is a modifier for how the rewards should scale with the Crime Spree level. This is the reward for surviving higher levels, since the game gets harder infinitely. However, some rather strange behavior happens when the player starts a new spree from a level that isn't 0. The game will treat that new level as 0, with the same rewards. So starting at level 0, 40, 4,000, 400,000, etc will all yield the same rewards (an example of this is the cover image). So what's the point in starting at a higher level? None. There is currently no reason to start a spree at any level other than 0 in the vanilla game.
This mod makes it so that this does not happen (I believe this is not intended behavior, the entire point of playing on a higher difficulty is that it gives better rewards). However, another issue happens when we do this. While the continue spree option is borderline useless in vanilla, it becomes even more so when you fix this issue. Since leaving it the same would result in players always cashing out their spree and starting another at the same level (I mean, why wouldn't you? No downsides with a lower coin cost) the starting cost and the continue cost are now the same (0.7*level + 6 coins). If you feel this amount is unbalanced please let me know below ("its too expensive" isn't a reason, talk about it from a balance perspective and why it needs to change considering the reward changes).
