Hello and welcome, my codename is Comand94 and this is the first public release of my melee weapon rebalance mod I've been working on for over 2 months.
What I love about PAYDAY 2 is how many different builds you can make: even the slightest change of skills will determine what weapons you will use over the others. In standard vanilla there are three best ways to go about melee: buzzer/electric knuckles, kunai or katana. Each of these three are viable in their own way and they'll fit every build. What about the rest of the melees? They're kinda useless compared to these.
What this mod aims to do is to make every melee weapon viable in it's own scenario. Each concealment choice made by me in this mod makes sense and you won't always want the weapons with max concealment, sometimes you'll take something with less concealment but better stats or other use in general. Sometimes you'll want more damage and more knockdown, sometimes you'll want less damage and more knockdown and sometimes you just want to kill. Sometimes you don't have any good weapons vs cloakers or dozers and there are melees that'd fit these roles with Berserk.
Some melee weapons are better than others without skills and some benefit from the skills more greatly. It's because of the bleed mechanic.
Bleed weapons will usually do a little bit more damage without skills than these without bleed. However, bleed doesn't scale with melee skills nor does poison. Some weapons do more bleed and some do less (dmg/tick, number of ticks).
I've also went ahead and changed speed of some weapons (just recently in this very patch [aka 0.6]) and animations.
The mod has been extensively tested in a lot of games but I'll need your help to help me test it now that I'm adding more weapons and messing with speed stats on them.
What my mod excels at is that I can nerf the katana and not buff it in any way and still be probably the best melee weapon in the game (most versitile). I've had many situations where I went 0 concealment build and I wanted to choose a melee and katana was still the best choice, regardless of fixed range (it's broken in vanilla imo). Therefore I can guarantee you that this mod will not make you overpowered.
If you find one melee to be better than other melee then leave arguments in the comments below so I can rethink the situation.
Almost 100% of the melees I make have different stats from each other.
PS: Max concealment in this mod for a weapon is 31 (for very concealable weapons like Bodhi's Boxcutter, Fists, Brass Knuckles, Buzzer)
