MGS - Tactical Heisting Operations (Head Masks)
Big Boss and Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid are now playable characters pairs of sunglasses in Payday 2!
I wanted to create character replacements, but npc_criminals_suit_1.model is currently unmodifiable as it is a rigged model. Maybe one day.
What's included?
- MGSV:GZ Big Boss - replaces John Wick's default shades.
- MGSV:GZ Big Boss - replaces Terminator shades.
- MGS4:GOTP Young Solid Snake - replaces Terminator shades.
- MGS4:GOTP Old Snake - replaces Terminator shades.
- MGS4:GOTP Old Big Boss - replaces Reservoir Dog shades.
- MGSV:GZ Bigger Boss :hoxton: - replaces Terminator shades.
- CQC - literally just renames Empty Palm Kata.
Issues:
- You have to put them on at the beginning of each heist, as they are masks. Maybe they're silicon replicas.
- They're bigger than they should be to accommodate the horrific second head inside.
- Clover's hair will stick out of the sides. Jacket's neck will clip. Wick's hair is wide and likes to poke out through cheek areas. There may be varying degrees of minor clipping with other characters.
- Old Big Boss and Old Snake both have strange, glowing hair. Explanation: The models use transparent hair textures. Payday 2 doesn't allow this in most cases. Transparency (the alpha channel) would instead change the shininess of the hair, and it would look like loads of brown rectangles. Sunglasses allow me to fix this, as their lenses can use transparency. All of the character's hair must replace the lenses. Because of something I've yet to work out (probably Overkill's fault), this results in the hair being unaffected by light and oddly miscoloured. Please let me know if you have any idea how to modify .material_config files to fix this! It's basically unnoticeable on the brown hair, but much more obvious with grey hair. I've tried to make the hair as correct as I can.
