One Shot Mosin mod is exactly what it says. It aims to buff arguably the most underwhelming weapon in current game balance
Quick summary for those who dislike reading:
- Mosin damage increased to one shot kill.
- RTV stock weapons are resource entities, meaning enemies will gain access to same Mosin.
Enemies will make more damage to you too with Mosin (even lethally through armor) consider carefully if this risk suits you before losing your progress. - The Punisher does not die to one body shot. If you want to one tap him, you have to hit a headshot.
- Recoil and kick has been adjusted to be more fitting with the firepower increase, Mosin feels less like .22 airgun.
I did not find any dedicated mod for snipers, so here is a small mod for all of you bolt-action lovers. I feel like Mosin is neglected in it's current state even for "starter weapon" (lack of attachments, inferior scope, slow reload, manual reload, no suppressor, rare ammo...) it deserves some punch to compensate!
Aim of the mod is to bring satisfying high risk, high reward weapon to the arsenal from previous large junk you sell to traders. You will find it now more suitable for medium to long range engagements, where typically any rifle with any optic excels better and more versatile in vanilla game.
This mod is for careful player and it will carry unforeseen risks to careless player. Upgraded weapon is lorefriendly named after Gunsmiths instructions to take care of the weapons and clean the barrels (which may have been the culprit behind the previously underwhelming damage).
Requires:
- Just modloader, tested on Metro Mod Loader
Installation and usage:
- Download OneShotMosin.vmz and place it in \Steam\steamapps\common\Road to Vostok\mods folder
- Load the mod with modloader
- Observe that the Mosin name changes to Mosin (Kenttähuollettu) by dropping the Mosin on the ground, mod is loaded correctly
Potential conflicts:
- Some weapon mods that rename the weapons might impact the ability to see the name tag change if load order wins this mod.
If unsure if the mod is loaded, you may check the latest %appdata%\Roaming\Road to Vostok\logs godot log and see if you can see the lines after loading the mod:
[OneShotMosin] SUCCESS: Mosin stats updated.
[ModLoader][Info] Autoload instantiated (script): OneShotMosin [One Shot Mosin]
