Simple Engagement is a lightweight AI engagement tweak for Road to Vostok. It stays very close to vanilla behavior, but adjusts the moment before combat begins so enemy encounters feel a little less abrupt and a little more readable.
By default, enemies have half of their normal vision range before they fully spot the player. They also no longer bark before spotting the player. Instead, they bark only after detection, followed by a short delay before combat begins.
The default delay is 2 seconds, giving the player a clear warning and a brief moment to react before the enemy engages normally.

Compatibility:

This mod is most likely not compatible with other mods that alter AI behavior, enemy detection, or combat engagement logic. Simple Engagement is not intended to be a full AI overhaul. It only changes the opening phase of combat engagement while leaving the rest of the enemy behavior close to vanilla.
