Key Features
This is heavily inspired by the iconic hideout from Escape from Tarkov, specifically tailored for the Road to Vostok environment.
- Replaces: The original "Bunker."
- Access: Uses the original bunker key to gain entry.
Visual Fidelity & Realism
Built with high-end visuals in mind to move past standard flat textures:
- 4K Parallax Mapping: Floors and walls feature physical depth. Using Deep Parallax, grout lines sink into the floor and concrete cracks appear as actual gaps that react to your perspective.
- Full PBR Workflow: Every surface is built with a complete set of Albedo, Normal, Roughness, and AO maps to ensure realistic light interaction and grit.
Technical Breakdown
This project was built from scratch to ensure tight performance and a custom layout:
- Geometry: Developed using Godot's CSG system for optimized collision and volumes.
- Architecture: Custom Boolean Cutters were used for precise doorways and structural openings.
- Assets: Utilizes high-quality 4K texture sets sourced from Polyhaven.
- Interactive Lighting: Fully rigged light systems with functional switches.
Important Notes
- Standalone: This does not overwrite the original Bunker. It is an add-on version, so both exist in the world.
- Saves: Players who have already progressed through the original Bunker may have issues depending on their save state.
- Cheats: The Hideout entrance replaces the Bunker entrance, so if you already used to key and have cheat menu just give yourself a new one, but you wont be able to re enter the original bunker.
- Recommended: Best experienced on a new game or a save where the Bunker hasn't been entered yet.
Technical Requirements
- Required: B_Loader by BitByteBytes.
- Compatibility: Incompatible with "ShelterAnywhere."
- Compatibility: Incompatible with "Gunsmith's Bunker." One custom shelter per region.
- Placement: Look for the door positioned directly in front of the original Bunker entrance.
- Known Issue: Placed carpets are currently dropping through the floor.
