Focus Eye for Vostok

Focus Eye is a tactical FOV overhaul for Road to Vostok, inspired by the focus mechanics of hardcore survival titles like DayZ. It bridges the gap between standard vision and long-range optics by allowing the player to concentrate their vision, providing a much-needed edge in the unforgiving Vostok landscape.

Features

• Dynamic Focus (Key bind): Press and hold your custom key (default B) to narrow your field of view for a 1.8x magnification. Perfect for identifying distant threats or scanning tree lines.

• Adrenaline Factor: While sprinting, your focus is slightly hindered, reducing the zoom to 1.5x to reflect the physical exertion.

• Enhanced ADS: Iron sights and non-magnified optics now feel more natural with a subtle 1.2x zoom, making target acquisition snappier and more precise.

• Sensitivity Scaling: No more jittery aiming. The mod automatically scales your mouse sensitivity based on your current zoom level for a smooth, tactical experience.

Installation Guide

Requirement: Ensure you have a compatible mod loader installed. We highly recommend Metro Mod Loader for the most stable experience.

1. Download: Download the FocusEyeVostok.vmf file.

2. Locate Game Folder: Right-click Road to Vostok in your Steam library > Manage > Browse local files.

3. Deploy: Open the mods folder and simply drag and drop the .vmf file into it.

4. Configure: Launch the game. If you are using Metro Mod Loader, you can easily rebind the focus key and tweak settings via the in-game Mod Configuration Menu (MCM).

Technical Note

This mod utilizes an Autoload script to ensure compatibility with other mods. It modifies the game Data resource in real-time, allowing it to override default FOV behavior without breaking core game mechanics.

In order to make this mod better for the future, I would love to hear your feedback. Right now, I didn't add the options yet to disable ADS zoom and change the zoom variables. Do you like these settings, or would you prefer playing around with them? Let me know.
