Randomized Loading Screen Tool V1 (Non-UE4SS Version)
Instructions
Included within the ".zip":
- "backup" folder - A backup ".bk2" of the original game loading screen.
- "videos" folder - One loading screen from my Animated Payday 3 Loading Screens (4 Variations) is already included. Delete or add to this folder. You will place all the loading screens you want within here.
- "randomIntro" - the Python script.
- "runRandomIntro" - the ".bat" script.
Instructions: (It looks like a lot but it is very simple)
- Download and extract the ".zip" from the Downloads tab and copy the "intro" folder into your ~mods folder.
Steam: Right click Payday 3 in your Steam Library and click Properties. From the Installed Files tab click Browse.
Epic Games Store: Right click Payday 3 in your EGS Library and click Manage. From the Installation tab click the folder icon (Open Install Location button). I don't use EGS, so you would have to figure out if you can do the rest of this within EGS. Sorry.
- Follow this directory: "SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\PAYDAY3\PAYDAY3\Content\Paks~mods".
If you don't already have a "~mods" folder within your "Paks" folder, create one (create a new folder and name it "~mods").
- Open Steam and click "Add a Game" in the bottom left.
- Click "Add a Non-Steam Game".
- Click "Browse".
- Follow this directory "C:\Windows\System32" and within the "System32" folder, select the "cmd.exe" application (you will have to scroll a bit or just search for it).
- Full directory: "C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe".
- From your Steam Library search for "cmd" and either favorite it or add it somewhere you can easily access (this will be the "game" you hit play on to make this work).
- Right click "cmd" in your Steam Library.
- Click "Properties".
- Set the "Target" to the directory of your "~mods" folder that you opened earlier in Step 1 with the quotation marks. If you have Payday 3 downloaded to your main C Drive then this is probably your directory:
- "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PAYDAY3\PAYDAY3\Content\Paks~mods\intro\runRandomIntro.bat"
External Drive example:
- "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\PAYDAY3\PAYDAY3\Content\Paks~mods\intro\runRandomIntro.bat"
- Set the "Start In" to the same directory as Step 9, except remove "\runRandomIntro.bat".
- "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PAYDAY3\PAYDAY3\Content\Paks~mods\intro"
External Drive example:
- "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\PAYDAY3\PAYDAY3\Content\Paks~mods\intro"
- Within the "intro" folder open the "videos" folder. Add as many ".bk2" loading screens as you want in this folder. Each one has an equal chance of being played.
- From your Steam Library, click "Play" on the "cmd" game. A command prompt will open up and close. Payday 3 will launch with a random loading screen from your "videos" folder.
- Enjoy :p
Note:
- To make this work you do have to launch the game through the added Non-Steam Game, "cmd".
- You do not have to do anything in your "PAYDAY3\PAYDAY3\Content\Movies" folder even if you have a custom loading screen already in there.
- You do not need to rename any loading screen to "BG_LoginVideo_01" within your "videos" folder. The script does this for you.
