W&T Tweaks - PocketWatcher - 06-29-2020

The suspension stated "Do not upload mods that unlock DLC or paid content." when I did not. You still must purchase the skins or legitimately acquire them. This mod is for people who have skins in poor quality and would like to use them without it looking like utter garbage.

Holy fuck, your guy's website is shit. Why did it post like this: The suspension stated "Do not upload mods that unlock DLC or paid content." when I did not. RE: W&T Tweaks - PocketWatcher - 06-29-2020

can yall get off that PACK and look at my appeal

RE: W&T Tweaks - PocketWatcher - 06-29-2020

will yall mods do something useful for once and actually look at your appeals, or are you people too self centered that you think you're always correct?

RE: W&T Tweaks - Matthelzor - 06-29-2020

First of all, you've uploaded a mod that gives the player the ability to bypass the skin condition , which is usually applied to the skin item you own on steam which does count as piracy by OVERKILL's definition. This is because the mod unlocks access to items that are paid for or earned through normal gameplay. Furthermore, we do not allow mods of this kind on our website.

Modifying skin conditions breaks piracy rules, Each condition skin has its own steam item ID, modifying Lightly-Marked to look Mint-Condition is effectively cheating an unowned steam item, Same rules apply for converting Mint-Condition to Lightly-Marked or lower. (https://modworkshop.net/rules, Rule 1)

Additionally, reuploading a mod that was suspended without changes is not allowed.

RE: W&T Tweaks - PocketWatcher - 06-29-2020

I'm not giving the player anything. They still have to get the skins. It's a visual mod, not a cheat. I'm not harming anyone or the Steam market, as it's dead anyway.

I also deliberately put in the description, it does not change anything on Steam. The rarity, value and condition stay the same. It is solely a client-side visual mod. If any of the mods on this site had half a brain, they'd read and look at the mod before drawing conclusions.

Submission Rule 1 is in place for legal reasons. Mod Workshop does not allow offending mods or support piracy of any kind.

RE: W&T Tweaks - PocketWatcher - 06-29-2020

It's not piracy of any sort.

You are effectively messing with the Steam inventory when you use this mod, giving you access to items you do not own. Still piracy, and not to mention involves legal matters with both Starbreeze Studios/OVERKILL Software and Valve.

Modworkshop is not a site to be used to promote illegal activities.

RE: W&T Tweaks - PocketWatcher - 06-29-2020

The mod is not touching Steam in any way. I will say this for the 3rd time now. It is a client-side, visual mod. Nothing is being added or removed from anyone's Steam inventory. All the mod is doing is making it show the complete texture on damaged skins. The value of the skin does not change. The rarity of the skin does not change. The condition of the skin does not change. It is purely visual. I really don't get what is so hard to grasp.

Further, if they were to go into an online game, if the other players don't have the mod, it will remain the condition it was.

There is no "conversion" happening. It's just manipulating what the player sees.

Is that in your heads now?

RE: W&T Tweaks - wekk - 06-29-2020

"Being purely visual" isn't an excuse to mess with Steam itself to the point of performing illegal activities through Steam inventory manipulation.

What you are doing here is similar to giving yourself a CSGO weapon skin through manipulating your Steam inventory. Visual? Yes. But you've illegally interfered with Steam to give yourself an item you do not legitimately own.
