"You're not tacticool enough if you don't color-code your shell by payload"

Changes the shell color on shell rack attachment, based on what the shell ammunition is being used.
This mod affects all shotgun that can install shell rack attachment on Upper Receiver.
Blue = Armor Piercing slug
Yellow/Oranges = Dragons Breath shell
Purple = Flechette shell
Green = High Explosive shell

To get shell rack for other shell-loading shotgun type, use this mod

Next update, I might try to make the ejected shell color changes too
I have no idea how to change the shell used on reload anim, if someone know how to do that (or know what the texture/model used for that) give me a holler.
Thanks to Iron Predator for helping me figuring out the lua to change the texture based on ammunition

I'll see what I can do to make it not so bright..
But I'll keep each shell type to different color spectrum, so it's very clear whats this and that..

I like this concept! But I agree with Schepeppa. The colours are a little too bright and in your face. I'd probably recommend them along these lines to make them a little more realistic:
HE Round = Dull Yellow
Dragon's Breath = Orangy-Red
Slugs = Green
Flechette would probably be fine just the same however if you wanted to change it I'd say a baby blue colour.

Fair enough, I'd try using less bombastic colours and more tacticool colours. Also, try adding little icons and text like Leon said. It'd look good aesthetically more than anything else, doesn't much matter if you can read it or not xD

Yea, I just know that too when researching what color do a shotgun shell have, and it denotes many thing.. not just its payload.
Then I think, screw it, I'll just paint the shell to a color I think match the payload lol

There's too little space to put the icon of the ammo type.. So I figured color will do just fine :)

Some of the colours don't work imo because they're used to differentiate the gauge of the shells. Like yellow is for standard 20 gauge shells. Purple is 16 gauge and green for 28 gauge. However, there are specific colours for the different shell types like you're doing here. A dark green means military grade, normal green might indicate that the shell is a 1 ounce slug made by Remington (they like to be different :P) and red is just an all around standard. Or you could just disregard everything I just said and say you painted the hulls yourself xD whatever you wanna do, it's your mod!

The shell used in the reload animation is usually built into the body model of the shotgun.
You'd have to make a ton of copies of the models, unfortunately.

I kinda want to avoid black, because it's the same color with most of the shotgun body..
So I pick bright color.

I think black would be perfect for HE while slugs get green.

Right, the yellow I envisioned is much more brighter.. Guess I messed up at photoshop..
I'll change it to other bright color
